you will never forget your first love and i say that because i know that, you will eventually get over him but it takes twice as long to get over someone than you was with him so you got a bout three years, just whatever you do dont go back you have come to far to get hurt again and that just adds to how long it will take to get over him but it will take a while

just like everyone said, it's normal and it will take time but you can definitely make time go by faster by keeping yourself busy and not think about him, because the more you dwell on it the longer it will take to get over him...so i suggest getting a hobby, go jogging, join a special course such as beading (you can make your own jewelry ;)) an exercise class so you can look and feel better (yoga or dance)...you can even change your look (a new hair cut or even dye your hair!)...make sure you keep yourself busy...work more hours, or get a job if you don't have one...if you're in school, make sure you don't lose focus and become more involved in school if you can! Hang out with your girlfriends, go shopping, etc! There are so many things you can do to keep yourself busy! I hope i helped, but don't worry it's totally normal, but these are some ideas to help you move on and forget about the boy who isn't worth your time! Because your time is very valuable and life is short, so you can go spend it on more important things that will help you get over it as well as help you personally in the future :)
Good luck!

Yes. The depths of your feelings for the individual has a lot to do with the length of time it takes. If your relationship was extremely close both physically and mentally and had gone on for a lengthy period of time it is difficult to let your feelings go. I had a person in my life with whom our relationship was quite intense. For some unknown reason it ended rather abruptly and I really took it hard, very hard. Even after all these years I cannot forget her. There has not been a day that I haven't thought about her. It's tough to lose someone you felt so close to. My life has gone on though and I've been married for a long time but the memories are still there. Maybe because I choose not to let her go. I don't know, but sometimes I think I am crazy for hanging on to these feelings but they just stay with me. It's crazy.

Yeah it is normal, a year and a half is a long time, especailly if you guys were close. Hate to inform you but you might never be able to get over him. Because there will always be that song, that place, that picture, that tattoo, that feeling, that whatever that will always remind you of him and take your feelings back there, when you were with him. Time will defaintly make it easier though

You must just be horny. Or maybe you have not met someone or something to take your mind off an immature relationship. If something is ment to be you will forget about it, and it will go away, and you will go on. If it comes back and you are willing, then it will make sense. You and your partner will be more mature, and hopfully happy know. Beware of past relationships though. Its better to move on. This stuff can take years and years sometimes.

yeah! my so called loves ditched for years, but i still love them, but i am in love with them. So i think you should move on, 'cuz one way love only make your life miserable. Life supposed to be happy and laughter's. Why keep yourself waiting for the love already missing, cuz you two were always fighting, until the love ending and you're keep thinking. Summer's coming, why don't you go tanning, so you can go camping, and let go of your passed loving, so you can become life enjoining. QLKM

Its very normal. The deeper your feelings were the longer it takes. Being in love and him being your best friend makes it even harder... dating other people wont help. You just end up comparing them to him, and then he stands out even more when they dont compare. Allow yourself time.... time is the biggest healer... it just takes the longest...

normal is prob the wrong word here, but it happens. advice to you...don't waste your life....been there, done that and wish I could get back that wasted time. I let him buy me a lifetime of lonliness while he was having a good life...don't do it! get a hobby and keep yourself busy, move, get a new job etc.
