Not anymore. Newer LCDs match the plasma in response time. LCD's have anti-glare screens which is great for bright days watching tv and playing games. LCD's last longer than most plasmas and are more cost efficient. DO THIS: look for the lcd with the LOWEST ms response time. 4ms to 8ms is perfect for games.

If you intend to use a TV for gaming purposes then I would suggest getting a plasma screen instead. With an LCD screen, you'll get a lot of pixelation with all the movement and colors of these new games. I don't believe the refresh rate is up to par with plasmas yet. Get the plasma TV and you'll won't regret it.

This TV will give you the best bang for your buck. I bought one and was totally blown away by its performance with games, computers, and HD media of all kinds.
Do the research and ask the pros.
