find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)

cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.

Don't do a "fad" diet. They may work to a degree but almost always, everyone gains their weight back. What you want to reach is a lifestyle change. Something that you are comfortable with that will last the rest of your life! Start out by limiting your breads - anything with white flour is not good for you. Processed foods are not good for you. It's one of the reasons there are so many health problems in the U.S. Organic (if you can afford it) or be very picky about the produce you eat. And the greatest way to happiness is through a drug induced session which you can achieve every time you exercise! It doesn't have to be phenomenally difficult, it just needs to be consistent and around the same time each day (3 days a week we've all heard about but that's the bare minimum). If you can, make an appointment at your gym with a professional who can help you come up with a exercise regimen.

Try www.weightwatchers.com. You can do it online, but best to do it in a meeting. What time you wake up doesn't really impact your weightloss. Try eating smaller meals every three hours. Get three servings of vegetables a day (about half a cup each), plus two servings of fruit. Eat less red meat, and servings of about 4 oz (size of your palm or a deck of cards) of white meat chicken or any fish. Eat grains, too, for fiber. For exercise, walk about an hour a day (build up to it if you need to) and you can split that into two sessions of 30 minutes each. Don't try to lose all the weight at once, 1-2 pounds a week after the first couple of weeks is best. Drink lots of water, like eight glasses of eight ounces each day, spread out. Get a good fitness magazine like "Shape" to learn more. Good luck!

Whatever time you wake up in the morning the 1st thing you should do is eat breakfast. Breaking your fast from the night before is very important. Research has consistently shown that breakfast eaters weigh less than people that skip it. I would suggest a cold cereal low in sugar and high in fiber like raisin bran with skim milk or buy the old fashioned oatmeal and simply stick it in the microwave. I add splenda(a sugar-free alternative) to my oatmeal and it tastes good.
I would strive to eat small meals 4-5x a day as this boosts your metabolism more than eating large meals less frequently. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Drink plenty of water. My advice with diet is to enjoy a variety of foods, but do so in moderation.
As for exercise, there is no 1 size fits all approach. Strive to be active nearly everyday. Find activities that you enjoy. Find ways to incorporate activity into your daily routine like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. I would suggest lifting weights 2-3x a week to lower body fat and cardio 3x a week on separate days.
Do not overtrain! If you overdo it you will not want to stick with it and you will make yourself sick, hurt yourself, etc. All of your routines should be less than 1 hr. When lifting do each muscle group 1 day a week. You can have a day where you do lower body and a day to do upper body. For upper body a basic routine includes bench press, shoulder press, bicep curls, abdominal crunches. For lower body try leg press or squats and calf raises.
I hope this helps.

Congratulations on the weight you've lost so far. Stay away from the pills. They have bad side effects. Here are some good ideas: 1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming. 2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State. 3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating. 4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself) 5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee. 6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night. 7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy. 8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup. Tone up the muscles: 1. Join a gym and get a trainer. 2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen. 3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body. 4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike. 5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class. 6. Join the local YMCA.. Mental Health: 1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings. 2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to. 3. Learn how to meditate. 4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with. 5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance. 6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts. 7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night. 8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative. 9. Do something for someone else who needs help.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

start walking everyday. build up to 10,000 steps a day. you don't have to do it all at once and it will make a huge difference. Don't "diet". Just eat smart. Eat unprocessed foods and drink lots of water. Since your days are empty, find activities to do in your area (summer sports, YMCA programs, etc) or go swimming everyday. any water activity is great exercise.

tae bo, it's awesome. about eating....i wouldn't suggest the diets where you eat 5-6 small meals a day.. unless you are going to work out vigorously. to me from personal experience you eat more and you eat before your body has enough time to digest your previous meal. but i can only make suggestions you have to find what best for you. i like working out early mornings, it gets me ready for the day
