I was shaving and my razor slipped. I remember thinking "I'm surprised I didn't cut myself." Well apparently I broke the skin because now I have a boil in that spot. So now I'm wondering, how should I take care of my razor. How often to throw it away? Should I put the lid back on? What about my dog and cats? Should I be worried if they sniffed it, ect??? Do you even think something was on the razor?

I assume you are talking about the disposable safety razors? The ones that slice and dice me? I always get the ones with a lubricant strip and make sure I wash them afterward, even use a old tooth brush to remove any Hair stuck in the razor. You should only use the razor for three shaves as it starts going blunt after the first shave. Likewise make sure it is dry after you use it, as 'rust' can form and then you risk infection if you cut yourself. I now have a nice electric razor, had enough of getting cut with the so called 'safety razors'

one way to take care of this razor problem is to beat it agenst the side of your sink making sure there is no hair on your razor cought in between the razors, this is common on tripple or doubled razors, hair cought on the razor can cause you to get cut and you should get a new razor at least every two weeks depending on how much you use it.
