Usually . . . it's best if they're both dating other people though. Then there's no risk of any secret hopes or suspicions. Well, almost no risk I should say. Some people are unscrupulous. Good night!

Yes they can be but at times its really hard, people (Male and Female) always say "I just want to be friends", unfortunately they usually say it after the other person has shown extra interest.
I'm going through this at present and I can tell you its a daily struggle because all your really doing is pretending.

There is virtually no difference between true friendship and love when it comes to the opposite sex, you have the same feelings and emotions except your usually not having sex.
And I can tell you that sooner or later that issue will be put on the table by one side or another.

Can a man and a woman be just friends, ask yourself the same question in 10 years and see if you still associate with the same opposite sex friends.

Yes but there has to be some respect for the other as a friend even as a sibling. The guys that are my friends are married and they treat me like their sister. Now for the single guys you can be friends but it is true that attractions can occur because men and women were made to like each other its just in our make up to like the opposite sex. If you like male attention or female attention you might have some problems being friends of the opposite sex. If you guys really don't have an attraction AT ALL it could work but understand that it could still develop later. So the answer to your question is, it's not impossible to be friends with the opposite sex.

Only if she's ugly.
Any guy who says he's just friends with a hot chick, is a liar and he's just playing the role of the friend to get in close and hopefully one day sleep with her.
All men know this, women for some reason find this difficult to believe and think that their guy-friend is different when he's actually not.
If men want friends, that's what they have other guys for.
Hell men sometimes even become friends with lesbians because they think they have a chance of sleeping with them.

I do because some people really do have that friendly connection between one another. You can do everything you could do with the same gender. I have plenty of male friends and I really am not interested in some of them and we are way better off being close friends.

No. I think it was a line in You've Got Mail (I think, not 100% sure). Tom Hanks' character told Meg Ryan's character something like, "Men and women cannot be friends. The sex part always gets in the way."

So to answer your question, no.

well i think they can if they both want to be just friends, but everyguy i have been friends with has ended up asking me out or telling me that he likes me or something. I tryed to have a friendship wth one of them and it has ended because the friendship almost messed me and my current boyfriend up.

Of course, but sometimes it's a thin line between "just friends" and something more. But yes, you can be "just friends"
