The egg is fine, she will lay another tomorrow and they will take turns sitting. Don't worry about the eggs, it will cause you to interfere and that is not necessary. Doves and pigeons are naturals at incubating and hatching their eggs.

Well, if the male is sitting on it then this is good. When the weather is warm they not have to sit 24/7.
Here is my story. When growing up. We lived in this old house my parents bought over time. Then we built a new house in front of the old and mom and dad rented the old house. In time my dad got tired of renting and the old house was empty. I had a pair of Ring Neck Doves and moved them into one of the bedrooms. My friends were all laughing how the dove were living in such nice accommodations. Heck, they had their own house! Well they just loved it and made babies to show how happy they were. I really not pay attention, but, the eggs hatched and babies were born. Soon the Bedroom had 20 Doves and I graduated high school and entered the Air Force. My mother continued to take care of the Doves. About a year later she was tired of it and ask me; "I just going to let the doves go, if, it OK with you". I said yes as I not know when I be back. Mom opened a window and the doves would fly in and out for the next 2 years. Eventually the Bedroom stayed empty and mom kept some feed out all the time. That was 30 years ago. Today, we still have Ring Neck Doves show up from time to time. Just let them do their thing, and maybe you have 3 Doves soon. But, I will warn you!!!! DO NOT give them a bedroom off their own! LOL!
