currently my voice is very monotone and either quiet and deep or a bit louder and nasally. I cannot seem to talk loudly (my voice just won't allow it) is there any exercises or anything that can help this.

not just scales and stuff, but also when you sing, it's not such a great idea to just carry the sound form your throat and nose. Most of the air we breathe goes to our lungs, and our diaphragm helps us collect air and push the air out. Use more of your diaphragm and stomach to carry out the air than using your chest or your vocal cords, because you'll hurt yourself that way. the more sound and air, the more clearness and quality will come out. hope that helps!!

Scales and vocal exercises. If you have a good voice teacher, they will hopefully lead you to these things and learn how to open up your voice. But if not, grab a book, read up on your voice and see if you're doing something wrong. Try a vocal tape with exercises on it as well. Good luck!

Yes scales, and lots of practice is good. Also, try taking out some Cd's of lots of diff kinds of music and try to emulate them, changing styles can give you some new some perspective.
