I've bought ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt in the past. It is good, name-brand ammo that they probably buy in large volume and can afford to sell at more competitive prices. I've never bought .223 ammo from them, but I'm sure it is fine.

Full metal jacketed rounds. They are fine for target practice, but they aren't very good for hunting and self-defense. The only reason the military uses it is because we aren't allowed to use anything else, per the Geneva conventions.

Good and least expensive for plinking, target shooting and gp. FMJ won't expand so it is sort of worthless for general hunting. Always check to see that it is non-corrosive.

a lead bullet will deform and split on impact doing greater damage to your target. copper ammo will maintain its shape and will do less damge. i would reccommend lead ammo.
