Greyhounds don't require all the room and excercise that is often assumed. A daily walk is usually all they need. If they can run around a little, all the better. They do love to play, but if given the chance, they are the consummate couch potato. Absolutely consider a Grey. You get a 100 % purebread animal, with full current medical check and spayed/neutered. Very little shedding, and a loyal friend for life. These are remarkable animals, and very very family oriented.

I have had both, I would have to say Golden Retriever. They are both wonderful dogs but the golden retriever is just a bit better to train. Greyhounds needs lots of room and space to grow and run.

I'm partial to greys - the slightly less dependent personality of the hounds & terriers suits me better than having a sporting or herding dog going "I'm board amuse me". Have a house full of whippets - sit for one herding or sporting dog & I'm tearing my hair out by the time a weekend is over.

Golden Retrievers. They are VERY friendly, need less excerxise, and MAYBE a little more easier to train. Just my opinion...
