Sounds like you're motivated to lose weight - good girl! Walking and diet awareness is an excellent way to begin your weight loss program, but don't expect miracles right away. After all, you didn't gain 20 lbs a month so don't count on losing that much weight that quickly. Exercise, and lots of it, is the best way to lose. As for walking, start with a mile and each week add another quarter mile to your regimen. Walking right after you've eaten is best, if possible. Whenever you're tempted to plunk down in front of your computer or TV, stop and think EXERCISE instead. Turn on your favorite music and just start moving your body. Dance! Twist and bend. Lift your arms above your head. Sing aloud!
Jump up and down! Let your crazy side take over! Good luck to you, future Super Model!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Yes you will start to lose weight, but 20 lbs a month is not healthy, they say 1-2 lbs a week is healthy and if you drop large amounts quickly your more likely to put it back on right away plus some. Just cut back your intake of sweets and with the walking you will start to see results..I am doing the same thing it's slow I know but the best way to keep the results. Also getting a couple hand weights is good to switch it up.

everyone's body is different. You could lose that much in a month, but most of it will be water weight. You want to make sure that you are doing interval training, because you body can get used to walking a mile everyday and in most cases there will be no effect. Also weight training is a key to helping lose weight. Keep your food in moderation as well! good luck!

come on... i have leg in a cast which has 8 fractures and i walk more than that - i walk about 10-15miles a week.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

20 LBS is impossible to be lost in one month. Just put it this way: what have been accumulating for years and years cannot be removed in a day and night. be realistic and set reasonable and short-term goals. divide your goal amongst months then get to work on part by part. Walking a mile a day is a good start, yet, is not enough to lose weight faster. Good luck!

Maybe. A generasl rule is that 1-2 pounds a week is safe. Just minus 500 calories from your diet. From the Info you gave me..after calorie reduction I may think like 1500-200 calories. maybe start eating 1800 calories a day and check your weight. Avoid artificial sweetners and soda. This takes time and rushing it may hurt you. Also checkout foods that have a low Glycemix index

Of course you will loose weight. To loose one pound you need to burn 3500 calories...seems like a lot but if you eat less that mean you get less calories, and if you walk that's burning calories..so that will do best.

By the way loosing 20lbs per month is very risky and not sure if possible.
That's almost 1 pound per day (Almost)

If loosing 2-3 pounds per week is unhealthy, then loosing almost 1 er day is even more unhealthy...

It's really all portion control. A new study has found that exercise is actually more important that counting calories. Be sure to drink plenty of water, too. And, remember that before starting any diet you should talk with your doctor. One last thing: Be sure you're doing this for the right reasons. Learn to be happy with who you are and how you are uniquely created. People should seriously love people for who they are, as cliche' as that sounds.
