I just got done with this in agriculture and we watched a movie from PBS that shows both sides of what is going on. And it looks like to me that gmo's are perfectly safe. they have the smae amount fo nutrtion, and they are not harmful, and there is no risk of mutations because they know what plants work and dont work that is why wheat is not a GMO. but where would our economy be today we got to see pictures of what corn and tomatos really looked like before we enhanced them, and you would not want to eat it. What is your opinion (be fair to everyone)

Food from genetically modified crops are safer than from traditional varieities.
Before any transgenic crop is released it has to be trialled thoroughly and approved by three agencies like United States Department of Agriculture, Environment Protection Agency and Food and Drug Administration. Hence, each variety undergoes a stringent testing regarding their food safety and environmental aspects.
Moreover in transgenic crops only the gene of interest will be added precisely, whereas in traditionally bred variety in addition to the desirable trait many other unwanted traits would have been incorporated unknowingly. Hence, we will not know the possible allergenic reactions, or other undesirable characters.

I rather think I would like to eat pre-GM plants, but I eat plants I find in abandoned fields... so I may not be the best opinion-supplier on that point.

The fears that most people hold for GM critters and flora are rather ridiculus.
No, it's those pestky things we don't understand. And take it from me, there is still quite a bit we don't understand.

My views on GMO's? "Don't worry, we'll get better."
