I get very disoriented sometimes in my right eye and partially in my left. It happens during odd times. Changes in light and such, patterns on the ground. It has happened while I was driving and all I can do is stop. If I try to continue to drive, I veer in one direction. When this happens, I always have a feeling like someone's on my right (not necessarily in a car). One thing I try to do when this happens is close my eyes and relax. It goes away 60% of the time, but sometimes it ends with a seizure. Also, when this happens and I do close my eyes, it's pitch black. I don't see the usual small bit of reddish light you normally see when you close your eyes in normal daylight or artificial light. When and if it goes away, it takes a few minutes to regain my sense of surroundings. What could be causing this?

Seizures should never be taken lightly, but you mention them as if they are commonplace… have you already been diagnosed with a siezure disorder?

This sounds potentially serious and you should get evaluated by a neurologist soon. The response to lights and patterns does suggest epilepsy, but there could be something else triggering these episodes.

Sounds like epilepsy. You should probably see a neurologist and get some tests like a CAT scan with sleep deprivation.

I have temporal lobe epilepsy. I have never had grand mal seizures but I have all the other symptoms you describe. I would not risk driving without getting the proper treatment first== you endanger yourself and others.

I have just the right combination of meds now and am seizure-free and have been for many years. I feel perfectly normal.

Good luck to you on this. Seriously, get treatment. It won't go away on its own.

Sounds like there could be several things going on . . . .
As one person answers,it could be epileptic related.
It could be what is called Migraine Phenomonon. . . symptoms of migraine headaches.
It could be blood pressure related and when you mention this feeling of someone on your right foot,I can't help but think of blood pressure problems.
What kind of medications are you on as sometimes medicines can cause visual disturbances etc
When is the last time you had your eyes checked? Sounds like you are over due to be seen by an Ophthalmologist.
Ophthalmologists can see alot of things going on in your body as a whole by just looking at the back of your eye where the optic nerve comes in and can direct you to the right place should it be more of a physical problem than a visual problem.
You really need to see an Ophthalmologist before this visual thing ends up hurting you or just as worse, hurting someone else.

are you being medicated for the seizures? it sounds like your body is trying to warn you about the seizures. it's common for people to have some symptoms like that right before a seizure. what you need to do is go to a doctor as soon as possible cuz that could be dangerous if you drive, if you are not taking meds then you might need to start. hope you feel better.
