That depends. Who are you?

Are you a friend? then you can't

Are you a law enforcement officer looking for this Marine? then you can, and already know how to contact his unit. Or an officer of the court with a warrant?

Im not a Marine, but an Air Force cop. I get calls asking if Airman X is deployed, if they can give me a social...I can find out, but CAN NOT say anything over the phone.

But will refer them to his first sergeant.


Why are you looking for this Marine?

It will help to see if you can ever find him

Information on military personell on deployment is not available for the general public it is on a strict need to know basis, and you dont qualify as being in the loop.

Sorry, but its to stop the enemy from knowing who is serving where and doing what.

Get his unit, most units have web pages and check for deployment
