the best all around protein supplements are blended. look for products with both egg protein and milk protein isolates (whey & casein). the matrix of amino acids from each source complete each other providing for a combination of both fast and slow acting proteins

The best protein shake would be in a health food store, but its expensive. Protein drinks lack alot of what the body needs. I would go for a meal replacement drink instead. It contains more of what the body needs and still has the protein. Tell you what to do go to walmart by their meal replacement in a can Powered form, strawberry flavour, put on scoop into a blender with cranberry juice and pomagramme juice and frozen mixed fruit and now you have a real energy drink.

When it comes to protein powders, be careful. You don't want to buy a huge jar of something that tastes like sawdust because you simply won't use it if you don't like the taste of it. I use EAS 100% Whey Protein. It's awesome at curbing my hunger and it tastes pretty good. I got a 2lb jug from Target on sale for $15. Next time I'm going to go for a 5lb jug. More product per dollar than the 2lb.
