My son is 16 and almost 5'8", and he's 150 pounds;
His bone structure is average and he's very athletic,
so his body is lean and toned.

So I'd say an average or healthy weight range for a boy
that height and age would be 140-170 pounds.

It depends on your muscle mass and body type. Don't go by specific numbers, go by how you feel comfortable with your body. Usually, a 5'8" male would be between 130-160 pounds.

Try a Body Mass Index Calculator, such as the one on this link:

There are many variations in the way this can be calculated, but this should give you a good general idea.

The standard is 100 pounds for the first 5 feet and then 5 pounds for each inch after that. Add 6 pounds after every inch if you are past 40.

Hi!
You can determine your healthy weight by using a BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator, like this one: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ .

You have a normal weight, when your BMI # is from 18.5 to 24.9. By entering your height and your weight, the BMI calculates your number.

Your age doesn't calculate your good weight, your height does. (e.g: I'm 5'6, and I weigh 122 pounds, my BMI is 19.7.)
Hope this was helpful!

With muscular arms, legs, and chest, 170lbs is a good target. If you can attain that weight with little body fat and a 32 inch waist, you are perfect...
