I have also heard people say this. It is not in the Bible though. There is a similar passage, which is probably where people came up with that saying. It speaks of how the Lord will give you a way of escape when you are tempted. He was talking to the brethren of the Corinthian Church. So the promise is to those who serve the Lord.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
P.S. God does not send bad things to, or put bad things on his children. These things just happen. God will, however, help us through them.

When things like that happen, they took a different route than what they should have. I personally have been through a lot and I am living proof that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes people need guidance to get to where they need to go and without it things like suicide or a nervous breakdowns happen. Sometimes god sends more than you can handle to test you or to see just how much you can handle.

The Bible says that the Lord will never give you trials larger than what you can handle..he did create man so he knows what every person is capable of...those people who do have breakdowns or who commit suicide feel like they cannot handle the load becuase (not to judge) but becuase they may not be in contact with the Lord personally or they are not feeding themselves their daily bread. Of coarse there are going to be trials while living on earth but if there is no support system or somewhere to look to in your time of need then of coarse it is going to seem difficult and unbearable...but every person is different and there are many reasons why these people feel like they cannot handle it

I had a nervous breakdown and that's when I found God, so he never sends more then what any person can handle. It's what we put on ourselves is the difference to whether we can handle.

God never sends more than you are capable of handling. because they commit suicide doesn't mean God sent more than they could handle it means they handled it the wrong way. suicide is a permanent answer to a temporary problem. Christians handle there problems thru Christ so no he doesn't send impossible things to us to bare. Jesus said with him all things are possible. you can get through it you just have to trust God no matter the circumstance.

No, how do you know that whatever circumstance that lead those people to have a nervous breakdown or commit suicide was sent by God? Perhaps those people were living in rebellion to the revealed will of God and their nervous breakdown or suicide was instead, their own response to their rebellious, disobedient lives. God respects your choice to choose or reject Him. Choosing Him brings blessings. Rejecting Him brings repercussions.

God never sends us more than we can handle. Those who commit suicide have free will and they choose to give up because they have not realized that God never gives anyone more than they can handle.

Yes, I believe that some are put to the test as a last resort for their Salvation. They are given more then THEY can handle but they know that nothing is too much for God so in hopes that he is who they turn to they are burdened to try to save their soul. It's kind of like having to break someones leg who is falling off of a cliff to save them. Their leg might be broke but, they will survive and eventually heal.

God only gives us enough to handle and not too much that we can not handle it. This keeps us focused that He is in charge, not man.
