For those unwilling to click the link:

...For Falwell, the "questions of the day" did not always relate to abortion and homosexuality--nor did they begin there. Decades before the forces that now make up the Christian right declared their culture war, Falwell was a rabid segregationist who railed against the civil rights movement from the pulpit of the abandoned backwater bottling plant he converted into Thomas Road Baptist Church. This opening episode of Falwell's life, studiously overlooked by his friends, naïvely unacknowledged by many of his chroniclers, and puzzlingly and glaringly omitted in the obituaries of the Washington Post and New York Times, is essential to understanding his historical significance in galvanizing the Christian right. Indeed, it was race--not abortion or the attendant suite of so-called "values" issues--that propelled Falwell and his evangelical allies into political activism.

This is an easy question. Which one is based on love and which one would Jesus have preached. Martin Luther King is right.

Falwell did not get his answers by prayer, scripture or reflection. He got everything through the emotion of hate and that is what he taught. MLK taught love, peace and understanding. Which did Jesus teach.

segregation is illegal and immoral
segregation & Integration are political in nature. There are many people on both sides of the issue. It's a moral issue that generally goes by area of country you live in. I believe in total intergration--some preachers I differ with totally. Being a preacher does not bring infalability.

that's real. In God I DO have faith. I only permit the believers in God relay that have faith for me, cos i for my area don't have self belief. i do no longer ideas being shipped in with each and every of the Christians. i'm able to settle for them. it is not my concern if a number of them won't be in a position to settle for me. i assume i'm fortunate in that admire. If i needed a transformation of atmosphere, i'd desire to easily bypass to a Muslim ruled us of a. of path, there may be the comparable project the place i'd face reliable opposition if i do no longer act the comparable way. i'm advantageous with it although. we are in a position to all study from what we don't have self belief, if we open our minds to it. there is not any requirement to have self belief it although. There are quite a few churches right here in England, and that they coexist peacefully with quite a few mosques. i'm particular i'd be welcomed right into a mosque, only like i'm welcome in churches. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that I purely oftentimes bypass to my 2 temples. those the two part of my head, in meditation. ((((hugs))))

Basically, anyone can come along and say they were inspired by "God". Who is any one to deny anyone's experience? Many people come to decisions by prayer, scripture, and reflection. That's great... for them!!
