I first noticed that I have a lot of difficultly vocally expressing myself at 13/14 (perhaps because I became more self-conscious).

I assumed my lack of clarity when speaking English existed because it was not my mothertongue, but I have the same problem when speaking in my mothertongue, as well as when speaking in French class.

I have a strong grasp of grammar in all three languages. My pronunciation and enunciation are adequate, and I am very good at organizing my thoughts mentally and on paper.

The problem is that I can't organize them verbally, at least not spontaneously. I stammer, often having to repeat myself, and I fish around for the right word, although I think I have a decent vocabulary.

As I approach the final years of high school, this issue is becoming a major problem. Can anyone:

1. Suggest what might be wrong, and
2. Suggest what I should do?

You may have low self-esteem and feel self conscious. Your written skills are very good. Maybe this goes back to when you were learning English and felt insecure, you may still be carrying those scary moments.

Maybe taking a class on public speaking will help you. I took one in college that included debate too. It was a great way to become more courageous about speaking in public. Also, look up books on speaking and self-esteem in the library. Many people have this fear of public speaking, it is quite common in just about all cultures.

Try to put yourself in a comfortable situation state of mind and not worry so much. When you're speaking try to choose something to talk about you feel very close to.Try to speak naturally. Everyone is not expected to be the same. There is respect in individuality. You are not exactly like the others you are comparing yourself to. I think those in judgement appreciate this. You have more to offer and are actually more intelligent than the other less dimensional characters you feel you're up against. Have more confidence. Inevitably, you're more interesting and have more to bring to the table. You have a lot to offer the real world.
