Hey, it's nice to know you've decided to get one. I've got my appointment for next Sunday to actually receive mine. You should fast and you should pray about it, and maeningfully contemplate it. Patriarchal blessings are very sacred things, and should be taken extremely seriously. Congrats on your baptism! I am very happy for you. Just seriously ask if it is your right time. Once again, congrats!

Besides what othe LDS have mentioned.
I would like to add that, the Patriarch blessing is for those who have a pretty firm and mature faith in the church.
That means, since you are only been a convert for three months, your Bishop might ask you to wait a little longer, before getting the blessing, just so you get more understanding of your faith, and belief.
Of course, there are exceptions, if the Bishop is inspire to feel that you are ready, then you can be blessed with out the waiting time.
Well, talk with your Bishop anyway, just follow his counsel, and you will be alright.

Great!
Let me tell you that my patriarchal blessing turned my life completely around for the better... I have already seen parts come true as I do my best to follow the Savior.(I got mine about a year ago)
Pray and fast for yourself and the Patriach the day you get it! It is a blessing from God to you and I know it's inspired.
After you are blessed read it a couple of times a month... it will help you become like the Savior.
Have a wonderful night! :)

I recieved my blessing when I was 13. It's sort of a "This could be your life" if you follow the Lord's commandments. From what I understand, all the Patriarchs are direct decendents of Joesph Smith. They place their hands on your head and they are told what to say by the spirit. It is recorded, and then later typed out and mailed to you. You shouldn't share what your blessing says with everyone. My husband and I did share ours after we were married. I have seen aspectes of mine and my husbands blessing come to lite thru the years. Good luck and I hope your blessing helps you stay on the path and leads you where you need to be.

Very nice!
A patriarchal blessing is a way that the Lord communicates directly to you, to inform you of the many wonderful blessings that he has in store for you, if you live for it. It is a way to learn that the Lord knows you very well, knows who you are and that he loves you and wants you to be successful. The blessing can be a guide and a comfort to you in times of doubt, discouragement and frustration. It can be a tool to help you find direction and purpose.
Good luck. I way you can prepare is to fast for 24 hours prior to the blessing and ask Heavenly Father in prayer that the patriarch will be inspired to give you a blessing in accordance to the will of the Lord.

The person who said all the patriarchs are direct descendants of Joseph Smith was wrong. They aren't.. just special men called by God to do what they do.
I would study your scriptures more, pray more.. all the normal things they tell you that will help you with your testimony. It is pretty spiritual, and pretty neat to listen to what they say.
You will given your linage, and it's sort of a road map to what your life could be like if you keep your covenants and promises to the Lord. Mine was really neat, got it a few weeks before I got married. It emphasized that I was doing what I was supposed to do and that this was the man I was supposed to marry.
Keep it pretty personal. You can share it with your family, if you want, or with the person you marry. I wouldn't share much with people who don't understand what the blessing means, or what it means to you.
Just know that it's what the Lord wants you to know, and what could be possible with faithfulness and obedience.

Your Patriarchal blessing is such a special and sacred thing. You are right. You should share it only with people who value it as much as you do. It is scripture written especially for you, with your name on it.
Yes, talk to your bishop. He will be your best source of information, advice and guidance. Just know that every time you decide to do something good, Satan will try to dissuade you and make things hard for you. So be strong and don't put yourself into situations where you can be tempted to make poor choices.
Very best to you!

The word Patriarch means father. In Genesis, just before he died, Jacob (aka Israel) gave each of his sons a blessing, as their father. These blessing were to guide them, help them understand what their missions and the missions of their descendants were.
You are one of those descendants. Today, patriarchs are called to that position by the stake president, with approval from the First Presidency (President Hinkley...) But just like Jacob's blessings for his sons, your patriarchal blessing will tell you what your mission in life is. Your blessing will tell you which Tribe you belong to- Of those blessings Jacob gave to his sons, which one applies to you.
There will be promises of blessings, as well as direction and counsel. Whatever that advise is, FOLLOW IT!!! It's from Heavenly Father.
In preparing for your blessing, call your bishop because he will need to interview you, and I think the stake president needs to, as well. Then, call the patriarch to make an appointment. I fasted the day of my appointment, prayed for him to be in tune, prayed that I would understand what I was being told.
What he says to you will be recorded and transcribed. Then you'll get a hardcopy of that blessing- treat it with care. It is revelation just for you, so study it. Also, when you know what your lineage is (what Tribe of Israel you belong to), go to Genesis and read that blessing, learn what you can there, as well.
Congratulations on this step. It will bring you closer to your Father in Heaven.

You're going to be told that you will have children and to teach them to be faithful, pay your tithing, get your education. You will find a faithful husband who you should support in his calling and go on a mission with you.
You are a very special daughter of our Heavenly Father, he loves you and are a very choice spirit. Converts are usually lavished with praise for converting.
You will have many callings and leadership positions in the church and will serve our heavenly father faithfully.
Yaddah....yaddah....yaddah....
The reason people arent supposed to show eachother is because they are all about the same. Men will all go on missions, women will all support their rightous husbands and have leadership callings.
If i'm wrong I'll become one of Joseph Smiths spirit wives in the CK.
Good Luck, May you see the truth of the cult you are in.
