1. My belief in God has nothing to do with "happiness." It's just something I believe to be true, and if it turns out that I'm wrong, oh well.

2. I believe in no fairy tales, whether they are attached to my perception of God or not. I don't believe in Rapunzel, Ezekiel, Hansel and Gretel or Adam and Eve. But I admit that I could be wrong.

3. Death may well be the end. I don't know. I personally believe consciousness is far more complex than we understand and that it may continue on in some way after the body dies. In fact, I suspect it does, but again, I know I could be wrong.

4. This one may be at least a bit true. I do rely heavily on my spirituality especially when I am having anxiety attacks. Whether that is because God comforts me or because my anxiety somehow triggers activity in my temporal lobes is another question to which I do not have an adequate answer.

5. I understand the concept of abiogenesis and in fact wonder if in fact that is the source not only for the universe, but for God as well.

6. My values come from a combination of my upbringing, my experience, and my sense of compassion. If there turned out to be no God, it would not affect my ethics one iota.

7. I am fascinated by the unknown.

8. I do not approach the unknowable with certitude. I hold a belief for which I have absolutely no tangible proof. To be arrogant about being correct would be stupid in such an instance.

9. I was raised in a secular Christian home and I am no longer Christian.

10. That would be because they (meaning you) are not right about me.

Cheers! :-)

I won't put all atheists in the same box as you. Do YOU lack the mental capacity to admit that you DON'T KNOW?

1. I WASN'T happy before my "skydaddy."

2. I LIVE in reality. My relationship with God is experiential.

3. If death is the end, I will never know it. I will die blissfully looking at it as a beginning.

4. I'm NOT secure without my "skydaddy." And neither are you.

5. You lack the ability to EXPLAIN something coming from nothing. It is one of the failures of "science."

6. You lack common sense. So based on you, it is impossible to determine that good values are derived from common sense. You have neither.

7. I don't fear the unknown. I know Who knows it.

8. I'm not right about God NOT existing. I'm right about Him EXISTING.

9. I wasn't raised a Christian. At all.

10. I lack the ability to admit all things that are patently false.

Couldn't I just turn every one of those questions back to you? What makes you think you're right? My belief in God is more than just faith. There's so much evidence out there. If you were to really study all religions, you'd find that Christianity makes the most sense; it's the most probable situation. But I give you kudos to your faith. You have more faith than anyone I know to believe that something comes from nothing. That's just not possible. It's never happened.

Also, I read on your myspace page that you said, If God does exist and is good, then he should let you into heaven because your better than most Christians. I just wanted you to know that that's nowhere in the bible. People always say, "If God is love, then he should let me into heaven." The bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever beleives in him shall not perish but have eternal life" in heaven. God clearly states what needs to happen to get to heaven, and people dont want to accept that; people make up other ways to get to heaven. We were all given the choice, which is great. But not all of our choices are right, as we often find just living life.

Sounds like you lack the ability to keep an open mind...and respect other people's beliefs. To each their own...let it be. I'm glad to know where I'll be going after I die and that I have a higher power looking after everyone. That doesn't make my mental capability any lower.

What? I thought even in evolution that man learned very early not only to fear the unknown but to respect it and find ways to appease it if necessary. And this is true even if we find the cause for certain events to happen.

There is nothing abnormal in our (God believers) respect for the unknown, or to acknowledge man does not have all the answers to life's mysteries. Some mysteries like what happens when we die can never be answered, even by scientists.

And you, my darling, lack the ability to open your mind to the fact that it's not all about you.

You lack the ability to keep your mouth shut.

And yet when things get complicated about our beliefs, you can't handle it. Look closely at your own number nine and then a little closer at your own opinion. Opionions like this represent the most bigotted veiwpoint I've ever come across.

Whether I believe in God or not...I will fear the unknown because I don't know it so it will scare me.

Why cant you just let them be happy with what they chose to believe? If they are happy, why does it matter?
