We were in my physics class the other day, and one of my friends asked a question about the behaivor of light. He knew what it did, he just wanted to know why the light reacted in a certain way. Before our teacher could answer, another guy in our class, who is really religious, said "Because God made it that way." Everyone kind of ignored him a little bit, and our teacher went on to explain that we still didn't really understand what things like that really were. But the guy said that several more times when we asked a "why" question; "Because God made it that way."
So my question is, isn't this just an excuse to not look deeper into something? Whenever a "why" question is asked, the answer from religious people seems to be"Because God made it that way", and that is as far as they will go. Has anyone else seen this? Or if you are one of those people, do you use that when you don't know the answer?

while i do believe in god, i'm not what you would call a religious person. i think that when an answer isn't clear or explained to a person's liking, that's when they tend to use the god theory. that's not to say that god didn't make it happen that way, but, this is what they believe and they see no reason for further investigation. personally, i think it's rude to spout out in class about your religious beliefs but, some feel the need to get there point across.

No one really knows what light is. We can measure some of its properties, but it is yet a serious mystery.
Now, just because you don't have a clue to the answer does not in any way mean that God did not make it that way.
Would you have been any better off it the guy had said: "no one really knows how to answer that"? How could you have answered the question? I am not trying to pick a fight here. But, some times an answer like: "because God made it that way" should be okay, unless someone can do better.

I wanted to roll my eyes at your description of this kid. So what, he's religious. Some people are religious, no matter their religion. I have friends who are so devoted to their pagan religion, that they'd actually answer that the Mother Goddess made everything the same way some one like that boy would answer God did.

And to answer you, I'm one of THOSE people. If there isn't an answer in science, why not God? As I said, I have friends who use their Mother Goddess in the same answer.

it's like saying The devil made me do it. or whatever they can't explain they'll do it by saying "God made it.". Ridiculous in believing in something that doesn't exist. Really poor excuse, because 1/5 of the world's population are Chinese, and most Chinese are either Buddhists, Taoists, Confucians or Atheists. Only a small proportion are Christians. So you'll never really hear Chinese people say "Oh My GOD", with the stress on GOD.

God has a plan for you yet you in addition to mght have unfastened will. God would not permit you get away with accountability. we are to blame for our own movements. So whether God has a plan and desires which you bypass the way He needs you to, it is likewise your determination. That person that mentioned the gay person is going to hell because of the fact he replaced into gay would not understand how we are saved. particular God says homosexuality is a sin. that's a sin and all sin is against God and His plan yet that's no longer why we bypass to hell. We bypass to hell because of the fact we don't positioned our have confidence and faith in Jesus. and have faith he died for me and you. And that Jesus is God interior the flesh. i'm no longer asserting this person it particularly is gay is going to heaven i'm in simple terms asserting its no longer why he is going to hell if he's. If he replaced into going to hell because of the fact he sinned i'm going to be going to hell because of the fact i over consume and am greater weight than i could be. or someone that has no administration of his tongue. Sin is Sin. its no longer the sin its the unbelief in Jesus as savior. All sin is forgivable. in simple terms ask God to forgive you and repent which ability turn around. exchange.
