physical nourishment is the reference. Scientifically eating creates warms; a Hebrew idiom used in the Septuagint. This is directly connected to warmth coming from eating(nourishment) and consuming God words for warmth or life.

In both Mark and Luke, who record that statement, the Greek word is "zao", which means "to live". It is where we get the English word "zoo". I can not find a single reference source that gives "be warmed" as a definition for the word zaō.

3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

That is in Matt. 4:3-4 and this is in King James version... What version did you get that from????

more knowledge of Greek and ancient text, translated

still has about the same meaning. He's saying we should not depend on bread alone, rather we should depend on God.

You forget the rest of the verses.
But by every word of God. (Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4)
Bread is a common symbol of the 'word'.

here is a mental jog.....

Calorie is a measure of heat.
Surely people who lived out in the elements realized that when you are hungry you get cold easier.
Especially at night in the desert.....you can die of hypothermia even on a mild night in the desert....
Anyhow - food warms you....I'll let you take it from there...

The bread should be made into toast and then eaten with bacon and eggs. That's the only way to achieve salvation.

The English version also says "Thou shalt not kill" when the proper word is "murder". There's a HUGE Difference between killing and murdering!!!
