Yep, but I never understood exactly why. What if an atheist became a vampire? Crosses and holy water should have no effect on them.

Now garlic and wooden stakes work for all vampires regardless their religion before becoming a member of the undead. There is something about vampires not being able to cross running water but I don't thibnk that's tied into holy water in anyway.

If Buffy the Vampire Slayer taught me anything, it's that holy water is not a very effective weapon against vampires unless you get them to drink it. You're better off just stabbing them with a pointy piece of wood.

They might overpower you if they're early season vampires, since only Buffy had any luck fighting them. Later season vampires are wimps who can be killed easily by the likes of Cordelia, Xander, and even Andrew and that obnoxious squeaky girl who became Buffy's sister.

Vampires aren't real, sweetie--you do know that? Real people who drink blood and claim to be vampires have a mental illness and might think holy water will hurt them. (Of course, they'll think tap water will them if you tell them it's been blessed).

Red Queen: What about Jewish vampires? Would you have to use a Star of David?)

okay, my suggestion is that if you're that uncertain about your movements, do no longer hunt vampires. I fee $20,000 funds in preserving with head, yet this fee might want to change by way of concern. Holy water works to some volume, yet i visit safeguard your problem once you've one. I have exterminated them for years, and that i'm very helpful at what I do. I, notwithstanding, do no longer evaluate myself in charge for collateral damage, so if the vampire is thrown into some thing or killed in a messy way, i don't have time to freshen up. once you've any 'leeches' lurking round, in basic terms digital mail me. >8)

most vampires probably laugh every time some asks that question. If you are talking the blood- sucking kind then no probably not because they are mostly humans that enjoy drinking blood. I have not known it to effect any other kind either.
