whiskey doesn't get better with age if it is in a bottle, but about the only way to damage it is to leave it in direct sunlight for a while. some of the chemicals that provide the flavor will break down. vodka is just about indestructible.

As long as the cap is on, the shelf life for most hard liquors is indefinite. Some cream liqueurs have a shelf life of closer to a couple years. With vodka and whiskey, you shouldn't ever have a problem!

Whiskey can go bad definately. It keeps on fermenting in the bottle.

I don't think Vodka can. It's distilled

That's assuming the bottles are closed and have never been open.

Whiskey only gets better with age. I'm not certain about vodka.

i had a few handles when i was in high school that were in my closet (to hide from parents). when i found them summer after sophomore year in college, they were fine. i think one was whiskey, it was about half full, and i had another that was vodka and was almost empty, they were both still good.
