Of course it is okay.

People also use B.C. and A.D. in their date systems whether they believe in Jesus or not. It directly acknowledges Christ (and this is just a single example of many where such is the case).

There is no reason why the Christian should guard Christmas from the unbeliever. It is a good thing that the entire Earth bows the knee to Christ on this day (whether they know that is what they are doing or not) for He is the King of all the Earth (whether they care to acknowledge it or not).

The word Christmas itself comes from Christ Mass. No one calls Christmas, nor celebrates, the Winter Solstice (with the exception of pagans).

Jesust wasn't even born on Christmas day. And Christmas is a pagan holiday originally celebrated by the Greeks to celebrate the coming of the winter. It doesn't make sense why Christians celebrate it.

What business is it of yours what I celebrate or not? MYOB is my philosophy. Whether the government sets this day aside or millions of people just look at it as a holiday like Memorial Day, I'll still do what I feel like doing on that day, which is to share gifts, food, and good times with my family and friends, and remember childhood memories of the same. You do whatever you want buddy.

I celebrate Yule = Winter Solstice. You see, christmas was around long before any jesus Or christ, so get over yourself. It was only named such so that others would follow what the christians, who were in control at the time, wanted them to. If anyone should NOT celebrate, it is the christian based religions. And your so-called Santa was around before jesus too - he was known as father winter.

Edit: Marriage was also around long before christianity.

Well Christmas isn't exactly what you'd call an original Christian holiday. It's pretty much a ripoff of the Pagan holiday most commonly referred to as Yule.

I usually celebrate both, both because of my religion and family tradition.

Why not? The first ones to celebrate were not Christians but pagans. The feast of Saturnala was a pagan holiday. On Dec. 25th they gave gifts and made merry.

Get over it and educate yourself on the true origin of Christmas...personally I think you people need to figure out the exact birth date of Jesus and celebrate on that date...I promise NO ONE will fight you for it....
