i ask because i've never been in one and the township that i live in has only a grocery store and a bank, and the fire and rescue (there's only 150 people in this township)so we don't have a christian book store for me to just walk on into to see what it's like.

Bibles and books written by and about Christians. CD's, DVD's and other things such as Christmas Cards that would be of interest to Christian.

They also sell supplies for church, like offering envelopes, communion cups, offering plates, etc.

Its not for adults only, children are welcome.

The one I go to has plastic bags with their logo on them.

"The Bible is also a library by nature as well as by name in that it is an organized collection of books rather than a single work. Originally the Bible as a whole, like the Old Testament before it, was a collection of concrete separate books at a certain spot in space and time. These books themselves, in some instances (Psalms, Proverbs, Pentateuch), were in turn made a unit by their arrangement and naming as a whole. At this point, where it was a collection of real books, the Bible was still a library, although when copied as a whole it became a book which like other similar collections is also properly, though in a derived sense, called a library (Library of American Literature, Altfranzosisch Bibliothek)." It is indeed an undisputed inspired library of book/writings for the catholics. Don't know what the fundamental 'bible alone' group will say.

Well, the easiest thing to do would be to go in one. But since you asked, it pretty much looks like any other gift shop. They sell bibles, commentaries, greeting cards, figurines, christian fiction, biographies, etc. Some will also sell church supplies like communion wafers, tithing envelopes, and things like that. Most of the ones that I've been to also have a kids and teen section with toys, bible games, bible storybooks, and devotional bibles aimed at children or teens. And different stores use different kinds of bags but most have their name and logo on them.

Bibles, books written about faith by people who have had trials and tribulations in their lives and claim that god helped them through it all, gifts of all kinds that are faith related. Games, books, and activity workbooks etc for children. Sometimes toys that are faith related. Sheet music, tapes, CDs and DVDs that are faith related.
They use different kinds of bags. Some are plain plastic and some of the bigger ones do have the logo on them.

A christian book store just has normal items inside of it. But I like to use the word "christianized" on this one, because everything inside has to do with God. The CD's, the books, the candles, everything. Even the candy they sell.

Christian books, cards, wall pictures, plaques.

The ones I have gone to use plastic bags with their name on it just like the grocery store.

Um, believe me, you haven't missed anything. They sell everything a good christian needs... except for a new brain.

Look up a christian bookstore on line and you'll get a good idea - they're all the same from what I've seen - lots of nonsense idol statues and pictures and, of course, plenty of books, books on tape, animated bible stories on CD, calendars, t-shirts... and other tourist trap CRAP.

Stay in your small town if visiting a christian bookstore is the highlight of your attraction to the outside world. I won't say you couldn't do worse than visiting one, but it might be a case of splitting egg hairs.

Here's a rather disgusting link for you: http://www.christcenteredmall.com/stores/christian_gifts.htm

They sell religious items such as bibles, jewelry, music, pictures, christening gowns, etc. It is also about the only place that one can find educational materials for home schooling. Visit one and you might find you like it.
