For school our teacher asked us whenever we read a book to see if we can find the internal and external conflict in the book. I just finished reading "The Hobbit" for fun and was wondering if you could give me your opinion.

I so enjoyed the Hobbit and LOTR.
Bilbo's internal conflict was overcoming his aversion to new things in order to grow. in the beginning he was almost agoraphobic. in the end he was secure enough to stand up to Thorin to try and use the Arkenstone to broker a peace before the batlle of 5 armies.
the external conflicts were the adventures, eg the trolls, Gollum, the dragon.
