I think my driver will win regardless of qualifying results. Of all the races, starting position for the Coca Cola 600 has probably the least amount of bearing on the eventual winner. Jimmie Johnson has proven his knack for getting around LMS and has a 1.28 something average here over his last 7 points races. He also has a couple of All Star wins and 2nds within that span. Although he normally starts much higher than 21st here, he did win his first 600 at LMS in 2003 after starting 37th. Out of all the driver/crew chief combinations in NASCAR Jimmie and Chad have an uncanny ability to get the 48 car in contention for a win by the end of the race. The 600 is a marathon and there is not a better driver at saving his equipment for the most opportune time to make a charge to the front. Look for the Lowe's Monte Carlo, 48 team to once again be celebrating in victory circle on Sunday night.

First it is nice to see DJ made it on time finally.

I usually pick my picks based on who changes engines before the race. Jimmie Johnson won the 600 a few years ago after blowing an engine in final practice and replacing it.

Kasey last year had the same issue and won.

I plan to see who changes engines and ends up in the back first before I make a pick. But, if I had to pick right now; safe bet is Jimmie Johnson. Lowes belongs to him right now.

Okay, now I don't know how good of his chances to win are, but you can't count my boy Sterling Marlin out. You'll probably look at the chart and notice that he's 30th. However, the car wrecked the last five minuets of practice and he had to bring a backup car for qualifying, one that he had never raced before and that they hadn't been able to practice with. He went out and qualified 30th out of 49, for a car making its first laps of the day, that's not half bad.

I'll go with Jimmie Johnson to win though....besides Sterling anyway ; )

I think Tony has a shot at the win. He hasn't been good at Charlotte in recent years, but he seems to have a good car and the Allstar race was promising.

Wow!!! He listed the whole field as well as the DNQ's. Could he think we might not know who all is in the race or who's where in owner points?? I'm getting really disappointed with the quality of the questions here lately, and I think I'll just start spending more time at InfieldParking.

My guy is Jeff Gordon, but I have a real bad feeling about how he will do. If I had to pick one guy it would be Casey Kane. He's due and he always does well at lowes
