I go camping. I get connected back with Nature again.. it's amazing how quickly that will refresh the spirit.

Peace be with you also. Thank you for such a lovely question!

So far Hugh Jardon has gotten two thumbs down for his "stop giving and start taking" answer... I actually think he is on to something. There comes a time when you have nothing more to give and you have little choice BUT to allow yourself to accept what others have to offer.

A good example of this comes from my own experience. I'm a music minister. I love what I do and I can't ever imagine NOT ministering. But I do get burned out on occasion and I've found that the best thing for me is to take a step back from my ministry and allow someone else to minister to me. Instead of being the one in charge, I would go over to my friend's church and just sing with the choir. It is always liberating and fulfilling to me.

So, in my opinion, when you need a spiritual refill, step back, give yourself a break, and allow yourself to accept what others offer. Go on a retreat of some sort, even if it's just an evening to yourself with a good book. Let someone take you out to coffee. Ask someone for a recommendation of an uplifting book. We don't have to do it all ourselves. Bottom line, ask God and be ready to receive.

Debra

Peace be with you. I have been in your postion and the best thing to do is to pray to God, read the Bible, spend quiet time with God spend time with people who are postive and up liftingTake time out for you take a warm bubble bath get a message go on a trip treat your self to your favorite coffee drink and we all get spiritually burned out when we actvively serve God.

Do things you enjoy and Debra remember this you are not a bad person if you have to say no to somepeople at times some people have no problem taking advantage and testing your boundaries you dont have to put up with that.

Jesus loves you and even He took time to be in a solidary place we should learn from the Lords example.

Going on a retreat is a way to revive and get refreshed. I just prayed for you E4G

Well, Debra, i get my refill in a number of ways. Perhaps the most significant, personally, is deep prayer. Sometimes i just take some time off, away from all the bustle, noise and troubles of the physical world, and sit in the silence. there, i just open myself to God and the Holy Spirit, asking him to refill me, to give me a double outpouring of his grace and precious love, so that i may regain the spiritual strength to continue. Sometimes God speaks in the silence, and it gives me motivation and assurance, and a special spiritual boost. Indeed, our spiritual "batteries" need to be recharged often, and as fast as they are recharges, so too, are they used up. but the more you give, somehow, is the more deeply and quickly you will be refilled. God never leaves us empty. Just the simple presence of God's love around me, sometimes, is enough to spiritually refill me.

Peace Debra

That's when I realize I haven't been taking care of myself. A person can only give so much before they need to recharge. So I take a weekend off. I spend time in nature. Or I watch warm-hearted movies. Or I pamper myself. Basically, I just take a short break from everyone and everything. Sometimes I'll pull out my boxes of Legos, or some clay, or paints and I'll be creative and play. Sometimes I'll invite my nephew over to play Legos with me. Letting the inner-child out to play, or letting your creative side out to create, can be very fulfulling.

You simply have to go back to the "foundation". Remember what is important. Family, friends, health, having a good time. Forget all the problems that this trivial material world may present and be like a simple child. Smile and be happy for this is just one one shell of existence, just one crossing.
I look at things differently. I feel that I am ageless, like I was never born and that I am possibly 15 million years old. I look at all my children, the human race and just laugh at our ways.

I pray and I read about my religion. Talking to others who share my beliefs helps a lot too. I also share all of my feelings with my husband and he teaches me more about being patient and letting God handle things. My husband is my spiritual support.

Keep on keeping on. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. There's a reason for everything. Just keep on, keeping on.
You have a strong reason for being, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Don't give up.Peace be with you too.

I'm not Christian, but I believe in God (Deist). So basically I pray, but in my own way. And sometimes I talk to someone I trust and love.
Hope you're fine.
