Well you can start off with doing a web search for "puppy pottytraining tips" and should come by quite a few sites.

A few potty training tips tho from me. I am assuming you want to train the pup to go outdoors. Take it outside to a specific area. Always lead puppy to same area. Let it walk out the door after you and follow you to the spot. Don't pick it up and carry it because it needs to learn how to get there. Puppies have small bladders and takes awhile for them to have full control of their bladder. So I recommend taking it out every hour to start out with. Times of day it needs to go are 1) upon waking up 2)right after eating (leave food down for 15 mins then pick it up and take pooch outside) 3) after playtime 4) after getting excited. Crate training helps a TON with potty training. If you cannot be watching the puppy, place in crate for up to an hour. This is a safe haven for your pup. Good for resting (which they need a lot of) and they will view it as their den. Place in a spot that gets lots of foot traffic so it's not feeling left out. ( Don't abuse it tho. ) If pup has an accident.. don't scold. He will NOT understand but will be reacting to your body lanuage.. why people think they are acting guilty. They sense your displeasure, but don't understand why. Just pick up the mess, clean it with a product for pet accidents and realize this was your fault as well for not paying attention to his signals. If you can't be watching.. crate. Or if you are busy doing dishes, etc, put on a leash and have her following you around. But mostly it's all about praise and consistency. Dogs do best with a schedule. Try to do things around same time everyday (feedings, walks, playtimes). Can take months for a pup to be fully trained. Another thing.. pick up that poop asap. Don't leave it hanging around. Bad sanation can lead to problems. So.. consistency, patience and lots of praise when the puppy does good. A gentle, "good boy buster" while he is going potty will do wonders!

Far as biting.. when he nips you, let out a yelp and walk away. He will soon learn that means play time is over and will stop doing the behavior. Gotta do this everytime he nips tho. He's just playing, but he must learn before he become a full grown, Large dog and it won't be funny no more. Once again, no physical stuff to reprimand. Dogs want to please, just have to show them what's acceptable.

Hope this helped!! Some good books to look into: The dog whisperer by paul owens, and my fave, the art of raising a puppy by the monks of new skete

First you need to get a crate to put her in. This way you can catch her when she has a "mistake" on the floor and use a firm no and take her outside she should be walked out not carried as this can be a praise to her and make her want to do it in the house. They usually not do messes in the crate. But she needs to go out about every 3-4 hours. Onlyy have her out when you can actually watch her and make sure you do.don't let her out and get sidetracked and forget to watch her. you shouldn't attempt to punish if you dont' catch her.
As far as biting dont have it two ways sometimes yes sometimes no.
if she bites again a firm no but give her somethign she can bite like a toy or a chewy.
Also I suggest a dog obediance class where I live you can do a basic puppy class at 8 weeks and dog obediance can start at 12-14 weeks>
Good luck and I hope this will help.
Also go to the library and get books on training your pup.

Do a lot of reading, and i'm sure that you'll get a lot of answers from people with tips of their own. When housebreaking a dog it's very important to watch them closely. If you don't allow them to go inside at all they will learn much faster that they should only go outside. Also, regarding the biting, I've heard that you should yelp when bitten (it's the way other dogs react when they are bitten too hard). Other than that i would agree that puppy training classes are a very good investment.

I have a dachshund and she or he is now a yr. I consider a few puppy breeds are extra susceptible to being larger at apartment breaking, and a few are absolutely cussed (like my little lady). I did repetition together with her. It took her approximately three months to eventually get the suggestion of "good enough I ought to move to the toilet at the dog pad", and now she in no way has an coincidence. Although a few persons say you should not permit your puppy to make use of a dog pad, and that you simply will have to take them out at the grass. Anyways, What I did with my dog is approximately each 25-30 min (the primary day) I could placed her at the pad, with constrained house for her to transport round it and wait a pair mins and permit her move. If she had an coincidence at the carpet, I could placed her instantly at the dog pad. Honestly, it sucks apartment breaking a dog. But I desire I helped a bit. Congrats for your new dog even though! Good success! EDIT- The cause I recomend dog pads is since, I are living in an rental in which I can not get external and permit her move at all times, 2d whilst I move to paintings and I depart her within the kitchen, she demands to visit the toilet someplace. Honestly, when you consider that she has been apartment damaged I haven't begun to have her have any injuries or another unhealthy behavior come from her making use of the dog pad.

my dog is 1 1/2 years old so my mom said i couldnt get her unil i figured out how to potty train her. At first we put her in a cage when we left the house and when we went to sleep. we made the cage big enough for her to lay down but not big enough to pee in a corner and sleep elsewhere. But for my dog that didn't work. So we isolated her in a room. preferabably in the kitchen and we covered it with newspaper and we gradually took pieces of newspaper away until there were a couple left then we took the newspaper outside and she went outside. And to prevent her from biting, when she does bite firmly say "no" she should notice the tone in your voice. Once she is spayed she will behave better.

get into a training class or go to any book store and buy an obedience training book, books will have different exercises or methods, but they will all take you to a similar place. you get out of a dog what you put into them & it will be good for both of you.
