georgealb: This is my point. What gives you the knowledge of what is and isn't? You are fre to believe in nothing. But why can't people allow others to believe in what they choose to? Myself, I believe in God. That is enough. But I do take offence when some say "Nothing but myself". It isn't in my scope to give anyone proof. That doesn't mean God doesn't exist. Some gays and atheists want to draw respones from believers.
You can! aTTACK ME, BECAUSE i WILL FIGHT BACK. i'M NOT the same as other believers. I believe in my own way and i welcome your war!

THERE IS NO TRUE PATH. ONLY THROUGH REAL EMPATHY WITH ALL CAN WE SEEK hope for all of creation.

Well it's the same reason that Jesus was persecuted. God said if we belived in him the people of the world would hate us. I hate that it has to be that way. It's like if a person lived in total darkness their whole life, when they are brought out into the light they would hate it, they might hate it forever, but some also realize how beautiful every thing is when light is shinning on it. The world is the darkness and God is the light when we trust in Him he will shed light on the darkest places.

They can. There are millions of good Christians out there who have never been attacked!
Sadly the reason Christians are attacked on here are the numerous postings from pseudo Christians - the ones who preach instead of talk or discuss, the ones who seem to know better than God, the ones who ridicule others belief in science. Most are not really Christians but ideologues - there is a huge difference. Some I am sure are non-Christians posing as one to cause damage.
Good Christians do not hate or threaten and they believe in a loving inclusive, tolerant and forgiving God.

It is my opinion that the people that attack other people for believing has serious insecurity's with in themselves. The conversation of god brings their fears out for reality Set's in and they fight it. Do to the fact that upbringing plays a large part ,a lot of people need to see something to believe it's real because mom and (or) Dad has told them this many times during the raising period. I know a person that has sooo much quilt with God that she doesn't like talking about religion because she believes and was raised to believe but is still doing things that she knows in her heart is wrong and knows God would not approve. It's that "out of sight / out of mind thing".last but certainly not least....People have to poke their noise's into other people's business mainly to make themselves look better to themselves. Live and let live. Anyone and everyone has the right to believe, pray or worship who ever or what ever they want and should be able to do so without others putting them down. I don't believe that there's any one person that truly does not believe even though they will argue it to the death and speaking of death, I would not want to be in their shoes when they meet their maker! God Bless and have a great day! :)

I think people can believe in God and not be attacked.
I wouldn't attack someone for believing in God.
I think the problem is when evangelists keep bashing people over the head with quotes from the bible, or other 'holy scriptures' that are usually interpreted in any way these evangelists choose to.
I really don't like anyone pushing their religion, or religious beliefs on me, no matter what their religion. i don't like people pushing their non-religious beliefs on me either.
I enjoy talking about religion, spiritual beliefs, philosophy though.
I do think if someone is entering into talking about religion, then they must be prepared to accept that others will not share the same beliefs.

Because people who don't - are "blind" and there for jealous and envy those who can feel and see and live the experiences of the greatest Love and Happiness. You probably have noticed that all those people are getting so irritated and annoyed by even mentioning the name of God. When there is something you don't understand and something that seems to you a bit frightening and so powerful (which we all get to experience at some point of our lives) it is better to cover your mind with a large statement that There is no God. And by shouting that to you these people first of all are trying to convince themselves. That where this irritation's coming from. If they are true unbelievers (which is very rare) - they simply don't care. But those who are the loudest atheists - they are just lost. Usually those are the first to become the "energetic" preachers (of any faith) later on.
P.S. Remember st. Paul?

You might as well ask why people can't not believe in God without being attacked. Atheists sometimes question and challenge religious people's beliefs, and religious people sometimes question and challenge atheists' beliefs. You may or may not think either is justified. I would add, however, that people's beliefs affect how they act towards other people, and in that case I think it can be right to question those beliefs.

Why does anybody attack somebody over their beliefs? People have nothing better to do with their time. There is nothing we can do to change the way people feel, all we can do is make sure that we do right in our lives. Remember though, that just as you do not want judgment to be passed on you for your beliefs, be sure to not pass judgment on the next person for theirs. We are all entitled to our own opinions or beliefs, and we will all have our day to face our maker, whoever that may be, just be sure that you are prepared when that day comes.

Because those who believe in one god are constantly judging, criticizing, and damning us to places that we don't believe in i.e. ATTACKING those who don't believe. So in essence:
you reap what you sow
what comes around goes around
you maid your bed not lie in it
everything you shell out into the universe comes back (3 or 10 fold for all those pagans out there your pick).
Simply put if you want to believe and worship in peace; tell your CHRISTIAN BUDDIES to back off and let others believe what we want to believe in PEACE and we will kindly do the same.
Thank You!

i think those doing the attacking are either scared, antagonists or plain ignorant to the views of other people.
what i find intriguing is that so many atheists post questions on here asking Christians to answer something they doubt. why do they appear to be always seeking answers if they strongly disbelieve in god.
