Are there intelligent beings as capable as us on Saturn or Jupitor or anywhere inside our own solar system?

If so, why do you believe this, and if not why not?

I see the answer to this question as one that is somewhat similar to the existance or non-existance of god... We haven't searched under every rock yet, but...

This question has given an interesting set of responses, 39 so far, and they include everything from UFOs to intelligent bacteria, trees and sea creatures. I've posted the question a second time in order to gather an even wider set of opinions... If you choose to answer this or the other post, I would certainly enjoy hearing your thoughts on how our search for evidence of exterritorial life compares to our search for evidence of supernatural "life." Thanks

I know what the solar system is, and the most obvious response is NO.

But I would like to spectulate as to whether or not a dolphin could be considered "intelligent life". I would think they would fall under that term. "Equal to man" is the part that will upset the religious right. Of course, animals are NOT equal to man in their "Good Book".

...but your not one of them, are you? ; )

Funny how so many people said that if there was they would surely put out radio waves that we could detect...hmmm...dolphins! ; 0

No life could live on Saturn or Jupiter, as these are gaseous planets. However, some of their moons might be good candidates for life, although probably not of the intelligent sort. Europa, for example (one of Jupiter's moons), is believed to have liquid water underneath its thick layer of ice; if so, then there is a chance of some kind of organisms living in it.

However, if intelligent life existed within our solar system, we would have located it by radio signals or some other indication of a civilization. It may exist on planets in other solar systems, but it hasn't been detected yet. The galaxy is a huge place; we might be the only advanced life forms within thousands of lightyears.

The other planets in our solar system don't have an atmosphere that WE would consider able to support life, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't life of some kind that could well be as intelligent, or more so, as humans. So I can not discount life on other planets in our solar system altogether.
I think it is more likely that there is life on many other planets outside of our solar system. To believe that we are the only intelligent life in all of the vastness of the Universe is hubris.

Solar system? Probably not.
Universe? Men have only been here for less than a blink of an eye. It's nearly impossible that there isn't some kind of other life out there, especially since I believe in evolution.

And Bacteria and other organic molecules have been found on Mars and on meteorites from Mars that have landed on Earth.

People eversince have always been mesmerized to see phenomenon coming from the sky and I beleive even the small stone would probably give them a heavenly regard as God's gift. Intelligent life is here and if ther is life in other parts of the universe. It will be like life in the United States, France or Uk where peopl form other third country would regard as advance. Intelligent being however however can be found in every country. A proof that most thatr super intelligent in US are sometimes from India. Germany or Japan.

If there were, our radio waves would have probably crossed paths by now. If they really were as intelligent as us, meaning they are intelligent but not supremely intelligent, then Saturn or Jupiter would be over populated and they would be well on their way of depleting their resources. And if you say that Jupiter is bigger than the earth, then that is all the more reason to build larger things. However, considering Jupiter does not have a identical atmospheric level as us, it is just as well to consider this intelligent life does not necessarily have to have a body the same as us.

there is large hazard that there is existence on different planets. whether or no longer they are smart, is greater of a question. they'd in simple terms be single-cellular organisms or large-smart beings. there's a each hazard they'd be cleverer than us. Our awareness is straight away growing to be, and that they'd have had thousands and thousands of years greater advantageous than us to advance. they'd have got here across each thing, the which ability of existence and all, and theory it ought ideal to no longer touch us. while they'd be single-cellular organisms or vegetation. There must be unusual animals, that look thoroughly distinctive than the animals on planet earth. Or they'd be fantastically comparable. There must be beings that are on the element persons on intelligence. the superb situation approximately that's that there are such lots of distinctive comments, and recommendations, and you will have plenty relaxing guessing. We would in no way understand, yet destiny generations might. that's a hazard they're going to in no way understand the two. we could be on my own in this universe, besides the undeniable fact that no longer likely that's.

Probably not. Life is something like a billion in one chance and we have less planets than that in this solar system. If there were then we would probably see signs of them in our various scans and such of the various planets.

Other life in the universe is much more likely since there are going to be more than two billion planets. But again them being equal to us would be monumentous since the likelyhood is they would either be way ahead of us or way behind us.

No, we've pretty much confirmed that we are indeed alone in our star system. Mars MIGHT have had bacterial life eons ago, but I'm not sure if that's been confirmed or not.

EDIT: No, the answer to this question is HARDLY like the answer to whether or not God exists. We can explore other planets in our system with probes and eventually humans. We can't explore something that transcends the spacetime continuum like God.

No.

"As capable as us" would mean being able to manipulate radio waves and we'd be able to detect them.

Jupiter and Saturn are not thought to be capable of supporting life, at least not any version of life we can postulate.

Some of the moons of the outer planets are thought to have atmospheres that could support life. If any advanced (ie like us) civilization was there, we'd be able to tell.

You know the solar system is pretty small right?
