C. Eng should be quite a good risk. your age and record will be of interest though, as will your car and employment status. If you are employed, driving a mondeo you should get reasonable rates including business use by the policyholder in person. If you are self employed rates will be higher and business use may be a costly extra. Footballers for example pay very high rates because they could injure other players, requiring high levels of compensation.
I ran a Rover 216 as a C.Eng MIChemE, employed status at about £250/year in the late 90s

Generally speaking, professions in the entertainment industry, sports, TV or media can attract higher premiums. The rest of us are largely unaffected. What will affect the terms is whether or not you use the car in connection with your business/profession and, if so, to what extent.
Speak to a broker who will be able to advise you further and even offer some premium comparisons based on the level of business use you might require.

the entertainment industry affects your insurance basically because if you have a PI claim it might be costly to the insurers - same goes for sports but generally most professions don't make any difference to a premium - it's just a lifestyle question - doesn't mean much really!

coverage top rate expenditures are calculated on area via statistical information. Actuarial study and the regulation of possibility. Do you think of an engineer designing structural drawings of bridge girders 8 hours an afternoon on a working laptop or computing device gets in greater motor vehicle injuries than someone who drives a transport truck 8 hours an afternoon in down city Chicago? The "threat" dictates the top rate. The top rate justifies the "threat!

I think it depends on if your profession affects the amount of miles you drive, the type of neighborhoods you drive through, and if you keep expensive equipment in your car that could tempt thefts. The insurance company is trying to weigh the liability.
