Best weight loss plan is to loose one pound a week. Every day you need to eat 50 calories less, and burn an extra 50 calories a day. If you do that you will loose one pound a week. In twenty weeks you will loose twenty pounds.

How to save 50 calories: Eat one less candy bar, one less order of fries, one less bottle of soda. Eat a bowl of oat meal instead of your regular dinner.

How to burn 50 calories: Walk at a brisk pace for 30 minutes. Jog for 15 minutes. Play sports rather than watch TV.

With this plan you loose a pound a week, and likely keep it off. Crash diets don't last, and rapid weight loss is easily gained back. Gradual weight loss because of good habits (as described above) is more healthy and you are less likely to gain the weight back.

I'm avoiding making a cheeky comment about not eating or having a finger for dessert.

In all actuality, here's my honest to goodness advice. Watch your salt! It causes bloating because it throws your fluid levels off. I cut all salt I could out of my diet. You still get the amounts of sodium and iodine you need from other things.

Drink lots of water. I know it sounds simple but when you're working to lose weight, there's no better way to flush it all out of your system than lots of water! If you don't like drinking plain old water, try crystal lite or those little drink additive packets.

Go walking. You don't have to start a gym-hitter's heavy duity routine, and sometimes walking (r jogging if you prefer) is the best thing you can do. Besides, it's easy to do with no equipment like weights and bands and such! By this, I refer to the common "Take the stairs" and "park father away" as well as just getting out of the house and walking around. I hit the local school track because you can keep track of how much you've done because each lap is 1/4 mile. Walking burns I think 100 cals per mile. Doesn't seem like much but if you're maintaining and making other efforts, it'll add up!

Find a buddy. Accountability will make you much more likely to stick to your efforts!

Good luck, I wish you the best!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Cut down on simple carbs and fat, eat smaller portions more often as opposed to fewer large portions. Avoid things like pop, sugary drinks, fast food.

Get some exercise.

Cut out red meat or dairy from your diet for awhile. If you stop eating them altogether you will actually keep the weight off. Do this and excerise regularily and stop eating unnessasary ammounts of junk food and you will be fine.
