I have a little chihuahua and she has little freckles. I asked my vet about it and he told me that it wasn't anything to be worried about, it's just apart of the dogs coloring.

Are you talking about actual skin pigment or little pink raised bumps? If you are talking about skin pigment I believe freckles might be common in some Chis. Below are some things you may want to see.

It's perfectly normal. I have 4 Chihuahua's. My eldest 2 did not stop changing colour until they were about 18 months old. My 1 year old is still changing. I also have a 4 month old who is black, white and tan. The black and white won;t change, but the tan is gettig much richer. I can;t wait to see what colour it will end up.

Apparently it is important to limit sun exposure for dogs because, just like humans, they can develop melanoma (skin cancer) around areas that have less hair (such as their mouth, and their tummies). So it is important to keep an eye on the little ones and watch for freckles and moles that develop around the mouth and genitals/ tummy area and stay in touch with your vet about them.

what you may perceive to be a freckle may actually be a mole, you might have it checked out if there are any abnormalities. Otherwise just enjoy the puppy

Are you talking anout in her fur or on her belly? Chihuahuas usually get freckles on their bellies as they get older.

usually they have their color by the time they are 3-4 months old. I would have it checked by a vet to be safe.
Not seeingthem it's hard to say.
