My son is going to be three in July and he hasn't ever been to daycare. He is finally starting daycare next week and I'm glad I can afford to let him go. I wish I would've started him in daycare when he was around 12 months. My mother suggested that I start my son in preschool but I know my son wouldn't be able to handle it..especially since he's never been in a daycare environment. I'm still in the process of potty training him too. So I would suggest having him start off in daycare if he has never been to one before and then when he's 4 start him in preschool. The children learn a lot in daycare and learn how to interact with other kids better in that type of environment.

It depends on ur child, some are independent and can handle being away from their parents for hours at a time but some just are not mentally or physically ready. Also depends how many years you'll have him in preschool from what I have seen most kids are 6 or7 when starting kindergarten

It depends on if he is wanting a spend time around other kids, and if you really need a break from him. Kids don't have to go to preschool at all. You can teach him anything he needs to learn. It is all about what will wok best for your family. A good resource on preschool (and why it might not be a good idea) is www.universalpreschool.com.

the sooner the better, it will help his development with associating with others and help his brain prepare for kindergarten.
