Because, all in all, People do not know or care to be truthful and honest. It is great to have the natural ability to ask questions. Everything we have learned has been taken in Faith. At what point do you ask "what is death"? To be able to pre-suppose what happens after Death, one would have to know what it is. Some Term it as a cessation of Life, but what is Life? The Deeper you Dig, the More you will come to know that everything is built for The Mind to Ask, Seek and Knock. Nothing is meant to be taken at Face Value and those that do are lead astray and deserve it.

Draw a lesson from Santa Claus. When the Mind is tired of a Notion, it digs deeper to a more fundamental Truth.

If you are discontented with the present Surface level realtiy, Dig Deeper. Worry not about those who mislead purposely, for your Destiny is yours.

This is a completely different dynamic, Santa is a fun thing for kids to hope for once a year, wheras Jesus is a life changing, life giving, life affirming savior whom we should use as a guide for a happy and fulfilled life, A true relationship with God is much more satifying than opening presents at christmas

Which is why we don't tell our kids that Santa, the Tooth Fairy or any other children's fantasies like them are real. They've had no problem believing in God so far.

It's part of the magic of childhood. That is why kids who are old enough to know better still pretend to believe. They WANT to believe.
Heck, I still believe in Santa!
As for the cloud dweller, well that's another story. I'm not sold on that one.

We told our son the truth from the beginning , Why lie to him ? When he gets older and finds out the truth , he might think my parents lied to me on this and what other things have they lied to me about ? He might be lead astray .

They tell the santa story only once a year. They tell the other story every day. Eventually it starts to stick. That's how programming works.
