God's in charge & no matter what happens I will praise Him.

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." This is in the book of Job, also, but I forgot the chapter & verse. I quote this a lot when bad things happen.

Job, a righteous man, was willing to accept whatever God allowed. He would continue to bless the name of the Lord (worship him)no matter what. He proved Satan a liar. Satan contended that the only reason Job served God was because of the blessings God had bestowed upon him. (Job 1:9-10) Job proved that it was out of love. Job is a fine example for us. We should ask ourselves:"Is my service to God is out of love or because of what's in it for me?" This is tested especially during trying circumstances. Economic setbacks, health issues, and tragedy can all test our fortitude and trust in God. Unfortunately, many choose to turn away God, blaming him for the problems they face or deciding that God does not exist or care about his creation. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Proverbs 27:11 advises: Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice, that I may make a reply to him that is taunting me.
Satan taunts God the same way about all of his faithful servants as he did about Job. Saying that they do not worship him out if heartfelt love, but out of selfishness.

God is in control just like parents who do discipline their chidren in love. parents will take away what is not good for them or what they do not need or maybe even to learn a lesson, no more video games until your grades go up. God gives and God takes away, just like earthly parents do because they are in control. Blessed be the name of the Lord means , thank goodness He knows better then we do. Parents take away an entire box of Sees candy from their 5 year old who wants to eat it because they know he will get sick and a tummy ache, so does God as He knows what is best for us and sometimes lessons are learned thru suffering.

The same who gave hath taken away. See how Job looks above instruments, and keeps his eye upon the First Cause.

Afflictions must not divert us from, but quicken us to religion. If in all our troubles we look to the Lord, he will support us. The Lord is righteous. All we have is from his gift; we have forfeited it by sin, and ought not to complain if he takes any part from us.

Discontent and impatience charge God with folly. Against these Job carefully watched; and so must we, acknowledging that as God has done right, but we have done wickedly, so God has done wisely, but we have done very foolishly.

Anything we have is God's anyway. If He chooses to remove it from us--He is Lord. This one line from Job shows just how much faith He had. Not only did he say this, but he said it AFTER everything was taken from him. He was quite a guy that man. No wonder God boasted so much on his behalf.

it emans to me that the lord gives when you need it and takes away when he sees fit. And this is good because he is a fair and powerful god.

btw, I love that verse too!

God is free to do as He chooses since we belong to Him, and His choice in NO WAY will ever take away from His goodness, righteousness or holiness.

to me it means His ways are higher than ours He knows what we need before we ask so He gives us all good things and us not being able to know whether something is good or bad for us He will remove the bad things

God is good no matter what
Rom 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Job maintains integrity......he would not stop serving Jehovah even when his children died because he knew that Jehovah could give him more children. He would suffer any persecution without turning against God.
