find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

That depends on your metabolism and what you are trying to gain. Are you trying to just lose weight or do you want to build any muscle, or just tone up. I have been doing martial arts for over 25 yrs. and I have always maintained my weight. I watch the times I eat and the types of food but do not count calories or carbs. I do not have a bodybuilder physique just a trim and tone body.

Each person stores and burns fat differently but there is one thing that I can tell you. It is not what you put in your body it is what you train your body to do with it. If your body is trained to store fat, you gain weight/fat, if it's trained to burn it, you lose weight or maintain your weight. Control the types of foods you eat (watch the simple sugars, fat, cholesterol, etc.) and the portions you eat. It takes a little more than ten to fifteen minutes for your body to realize you are full so most people eat until they immediately feel full thus they end up overeating.
Do not eat within 3 hours of bedtime, make sure to have a healthy breakfast and begin an exercise program. Even walking 30 minutes a day 5 times a week will make a difference and start training your body to burn the fat.

Neither...

You will probably still eat the same amount to food!
That's the problem.

Their is only one way, don't eat as much and physical activity.

Which if your overweight has probably been something you have avoided for a long time.

And you wanting to lose weight is superficial.
You don't realize what it takes, that's the problem...
You need to burn off the calories and FAT that you already have...

If you do end up doing that you still will never look as good as you want... Extra Skin makes you look just as fat, if not more UN attractive..

Caloric intake should be lowered.
If you try the low-carb diet you will lose weight faster.(water loss)
But once you start eating carbs again you will gain the weight back faster.

Good Luck to you!

I have heard from a fitness Guru Jackie Warner That Sugar is the Enemy. Not Fat..So you can have healthy fat in moderation in your diet but try and eliminate the sugar intake out of your diet because that's the enemy, So check to see how much sugar is in the products you buy, She said it shouldn't have over 2 or 5 grams of sugar in it and Eat foods that are natural like fruits and vegtables =)

Use spray oil as an alternative to pouring. One squirt contains just one calorie compared to 120 calories from a tablespoon. If you use oil inside your cooking daily, this small change could lose which you stone over the year.

People who plan their weekly meals are more successful at losing weight than individuals who don’t. Plan your dishes to feature healthy carbs such as special potato and wholegrain pasta, greens and lean proteins, buy all of the ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to eat out or order in.
