Best way to avoid that is to exercise while you diet. Only other way is surgery, but if you exercise at least every other day, your skin will tighten as you lose weight.

If you go on a crash diet, yes, you will have lots of excess skin. If, however, you lose weight slowly and naturally, the problem will correct itself. With loose skin, if you choose to go on a quick weight loss diet, can only be taken off with surgery.

if you do it the wright way you wont have much saggy skin - losing 1-2lbs a week is considered healthy and fast enough to let your skin adapt.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

lose gradually, and exercise to train your body back into a toned state. I don't know how long you've been overweight, or how old you are, those are contributing factors...
Skin is resillient, and comes back, but like elastic, if you stretch it for too long, it will stay that way.
Good luck.

drink plenty of water during the day and this helps the elasticity of your skin, but sometimes you can not control saggy skin without surgery depends on your current skin elasticity and how much weight lost. Good Luck!!!!
