Try to relax, not worry, and let the dentist do what they're good at. :) They know what to do. They're a professional! Hard as it is with teeth which hurt like hell, try to be calm and trust the guy with the qualifications to do the right thing and.

I just had mine pulled three days ago, mine were erupted so thank god for that... the surgery itself lasted about ten minutes (for all four) and the Dr was like "you're all set" I can't believe it was so quick and pain free! The recovery period sucks though... have gauze pads and pain killers on hand as well as soft foods. The hardest thing I've had to do is stay away from solid foods. I have to eat foods that don't require teeth... that's not too easy to do. Overall though if I had to rate the whole experience from 1 - 10 with 10 being the worst, I would say it was about a 6.. if that helps! It really depends on a lot of things. Are your teeth erupted or impacted,,, cuz if they're impacted, I've heard it's a little trickier!

I had 4 taken out at one time. Two impacted, 2 fully out. The best is to relax. When you get in the chair, close your eyes. If you're awake, they'll prob have headphones but bring your own if you have fav music. If you're sleeping, you won't feel a thing. When I woke up, I was groggy and numb. Didn't feel a thing. Ask if you can take the pain meds immediately. I didn't. I waited until a hour after the surgery and the pain hit hard. But once the meds were in, not much pain. Give them a call to see if there's anything you need to do. With my surgery, I couldn't eat or drink for 8 hours before, no nailpolish, and no open toed shoes. Best best to ask. I had mines taken out abut 2 weeks ago and it's the best thing that happened. I have no more jaw, ear, or headaches. =) Good luck!

i had mine pulled yesterday afternoon. just the upper and lower of the right side. i didint feel any pain during the procedure. just pressure. be prepared with the very hard pressure they will exert. especially with the upper one. to give u a hint: they will like twist the tooth or squeeze it. but it depends on the situation of ur teeth. just relax and put ur players on. actually, after the anaesthesia was gone, I DIDINT EXPERIENCE ANY PAIN AT ALL! hope thts true with u!
keep in touch!

Buy ahead of time, jello, pudding, oatmeal, anything that does not require chewing! Your dentist will prescribe you a painkiller, also try to keep your mouth covered when in cool air for first2-3 days! The cool air really hurts after tooth pulling!

Make sure you have plenty of popsicles, puddings, and apple sauce. Oh and PLENTY OF ICE. That will help the swelling. This sounds crazy but it works! Get a bra and place the bra under your chin and wrap it around your face and tie it on top of your head. Place bags of ice in the cups of the bra. It will hold the ice close to your face and you can move around without having to hold the ice in place. It looks silly but it really works. Also make sure you have plenty of salt to do the warm salt water rinses after you eat.
