The Bible even says that slaves are property. How can this be justified?

Exodus 21: 20 and 21 says,

"20"If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished.

21"If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken; (M)for he is his property.

The Bible is full of fallacies. Just read it as you would any other novel. Have fun!

Exodus was written by Moses following the Israeli departure from slavery in egypt, Slavery was a common practice at the time and the Israelites had no army, schools, governors, or mayors when they left egypt and therefore it was up to Moses to set guidlines for them to practice, however the bible does in no way condone slavery, and this has no bearing in present time.

It is also a history book telling it how it was back then. If you knew all the things that have happened on this earth since the beginning of creation you would probably go insane because so many have been so barbaric and evil.

i'm a christian and that i'm not EXCUSING IT. that's often been around.. purely like different undesirable issues that pass on interior the worldwide. each and every element that grow to be a sin grow to be undesirable whilst it went against His rules.. as they nevertheless do. Why does God enable this evil? might desire to He fairly kill them formerly they do evil deeds? might desire to He decide murderers and rapists now? What approximately thieves and liars, adulterers, fornicators, people who lust, and people who hate? If God judged evil at present, (alongside with LIARS - it in basic terms takes one million deceive be a liar.) all unconverted women and adult men human beings might perish under His wrath. Thank God that he's patiently waiting for them to tutor to the Savior and be stored from His undesirable wrath.

Who said that they were just indentured servants? They were slaves through and through....that dosent meen that that was wrong during this time period. Its the same as it being polite a hundred years ago to call an african american a *****. Its all about the time period.

back then if you got into a bind you would work it off for that person..and if you failed to give them a good days work they could and did motivate you.

Today we are still slaves to credit....we get in a bind and we have to borrow from the master with the bucks and we work for them until we get them paid off...and they can hurt us by suing us or garnishing our wages or ruining our credit ...

the only thing different is back then you had to live with them...today you don't...

Back then if you owed someone you worked until the jubilee year..could be 49 years....but if you went into servitude in the 48 year you only worked 1 year. the 50th year was the jubilee and all slaves were set free.

Pro 22:15 Foolishness [is] bound in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Slavery, according to Yahweh's way, was a Law of love. You loved the person enough to take that person into your house as a family member to tend to all of that persons needs because they were not able to provide for themselves. Of course correction was needed sometimes and Yahweh allowed that to take place when necessary.

As with all of the the Laws of Yahweh they are Laws of Love, mankind corrupted them with what was so called slavery in this country, it was for greed of the owner and not care and concern for someone who couldn't care for themselves but strictly for profit.

I recommend that the world will reconsider Yahweh's Laws of Marriage and Slavery.

1Jo 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of Yahweh, that we keep his Laws: and his Laws are not grievous.
