Any cons of them? Any unobvious pros?

they do live up to its name, and really work. But it depends on you and how long you keep them in, like if u wear them all day it will work quicker than just wearing them at night. The cons are they are just as expensive as braces can run from 2,000-5,000 depending on your teeth and the time you have to wear them. a lot of insurances dont cover invisalign, but if you have the money its def worth it, and if you are older than a teenager with crooked teeth, cos lets be honest no adults wants to be seen with braces or retainers.

I can't remember the actual figures for invisalign. But I do want to mention what my ortho told me. If you get regular braces, they will break the payments down over the length of treatment. I am paying about $1,500 (after insurance) for regular braces and pay about $60 a month. With invisalign, your insurance company will only cover up to the same amount they would cover the regular braces (if they cover ortho at all....make sure you check). As for a payment plan with the ortho for the remaining balance, that was not allowed. He said that they found people would only do half of the treatment time, see a good enough improvement in their teeth and then stop coming back because you just take the aligners out. Unlike traditional braces where you have to have them removed. So they want it all paid up front so they don't get screwed.

HELLO,

FIRST LET ME CLEAR UP SOME. SO THERE NO MISINFORMATION. YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY DOES NOT KNOW WHICH TYPE OF ORTHODONTICS THE DENTIST PLANS TO USE. WHETHER IT'S TRADITIONAL BRACES OR INVISALIGN MAKE NO DIFFERENCE. THEY STILL ONLY PAY A FIXED BENEFIT FOR ORTHODONTICS.
THE COST VARIES DEPENDING ON YOUR CASE. ORTHODONTISTS CHARGE MORE THAN GENERAL DENTISTS CERTIFIED TO DO INVISALIGN.
PROS=REMOVAL FOR EATING AND FLOSSING WITH EASE. IMPROVED GENERAL APPEARANCE WHILE UNDERGOING ORTHO.
CONS=CONTINOUS WEARING FOR THE PRESCRIBED TIME, POSSIBLE LOSS OR BREAKAGE OF THE ALIGNER.
