I just not saw this question--I hope things have worked out for your kitty. But I can't imagine any place that doesn't have an emergency clinic! As so many have said, IMMEDIATE care is needed. & if I say it a thousand times, I'll say it again--keep you cat indoors. No matter how much they yowl to get out, (especially males), they get used to it. There are so many horrid things that can happen to a cat who is let outside. I'd like to email you (if you accept email) just to see how things turned out--& yet....

whoa i definitely have had a cat that did that, he was 2 years old. He was always hiding so he barely ate or drank food. Thats why when he'd come out he'd always be hunching close to the floor like a rat because he's body was used to scrunching into the tiniest holes.
So, the reason your cat is loosing hair is because he's been hiding so much that he's not drinking enough water so he's dehydrated trust me that happened to my cat.
Feeding it means buying food with lots of proteins in it and vitamins. Try even getting cat milk from there store.
You have to take on the task of keeping a very close eye on your cat and making sure that it eats at least two times a day. Dont try making it eat a lot all at once because he'll get more sick he has to get used to eating regularly.
and of course always have clean water near him and have his litter box super clean.
Get cat vitamins and read the directions.
But, most importantly show him lots of love and care and try finding a cage like a ferret cage where you know he won't get out and hide again.

i am a huge animal lover and i hate to say it, but its possible that your cat is slowly dying. the same thing happened to a dog i used to have as well as 2 cats. the cats 12 and some live beyond that so maybe hes just sick. if i were you i would take your cat out of whereever hes hiding and put him in an area that is visible to you and comfortable to him. just keep your eye on him, try to get him to eat, and once the vet opens up, go there immediatly. im from nj and there is an animal clinic that is open 24/7 so im sure that if you just look up clinics around your area, a few should pop up and tell you that they're open 24/7. Best of Luck.

I hate to give you bad news, but he sounds like he may be in kidney failure. He does not have time to wait until the weekend is over for help. Do you have access to ANY kind of Veterinarian? Emergency Clinic, a vet that is not your regular vet but is open? If left alone, he will surely die. He may anyway, but he deserves better than to die painflly this way. He needs you to help him, if it is only to die in a humane way. I know how hard this is. I lost 2 cats to kidney failure, & it is hard to see. It happens with old age, & not much can be done at this stage but to comfort & tell him it's o.k. to go to heaven.

i would take him to a vet hospital . . . but if thats not an option then the next best thing would be to put him in a towel/blanket and put him in a kennel to get him away from noise/dogs/kids and so he can still feel hidden. Then I would go get some "kitten milk" from the pet store, walmart also sells it. And feed him that in a syringe. Its full of vitamins and minerals, plus it tastes good and it will help keep him hydrated. Make sure you clean up any feces or urine right away. Umm and just get him to the vet asap!

Could be any number of things from feline disease to being hit by a car. I agree the best thing is an emergency vet. As much as I hate to say it, if you cant afford a vet, have him euthanized. Sounds like he is in a lot of pain and is suffering. I hope everything turns out well. Let us know what happens. Will be thinking of you.

Your cat has to the the vet NOW. I know your vet is closed, but surely they have an answering service. Call them and find out. If they don't have one, find an emergency clinic. If you can't find one, call every vet in the phone book until you find one with an answering service. This could be kidney failure...acute is quick and deadly, chronic is treatable but not curable. It could be several other things also. Only the vet can tell you. Prayers for your baby.

You need to put him in a box with some soft towels and get him to the nearest 24 hour emergency clinic right away. If you can get him to drink a few sips of water first, even better. Please do it now!. You may very well lose him, but there is no excuse to let him die an extended horrible death without at least trying to help him out! It may not be too late at all. And how will you feel if you did nothing?
PLEASE TAKE HIM NOW!

The only thing that cat needs is a vet to look at him; there's bound to be a vet open even now; some clinics are 24 hour. Your cat can have one of many things including untreated diabetes, Lupus or any number of things. It's important to take him to the vet.

Poor thing!
He could have gotten into some kind of poison, or been infected with parasites or some disease. There should be an emergency number you can call for your kitty.
Things don't look good for him. But if he's to have any chance of surviving at all, call an emergency vet.
And meanwhile, make him into an inside kitty. That is far safer for him.
Good luck.
