This is a very common dream.

If you dream of your teeth falling out, you might want to check your teeth. Perhaps the dream is an early warning of a problem or a crown is coming loose. You might taste an abscess at a less than conscious level before you have other symptoms. Any dreams with concrete images of our bodies or parts of our bodies should first be examined as diagnostic information, perhaps of some illness or a tendency toward acquiring some illness. The dream might be telling us our present lifestyle needs to be changed if we are to be healthy.

The next step is to look at how these images are metaphors for something in your life. How did you feel about losing your teeth? What would a lost tooth mean to you? For one person, it might be the fear of loss of attractiveness. To another, it might call up fears of aging and being frail in some way. Perhaps there is something you can't sink your teeth into. Do you use an expression with the word tooth in it? Are you having to fight someone tooth and nail? I would ask the dreamer how not having teeth would feel. Is he worried about not being able to eat? Does she say she can't bite without teeth? If you can't chew, then you can't swallow. I want to know what the dreamer can't swallow in life. Or perhaps the feeling is one of having bitten off more than you can chew. If the teeth feel like they're crumbling, I wonder what might be crumbling or falling apart in the dreamer's life. Does this represent emotions crumbling?

Without the emotions in the dream and the events leading up to the dream, it's hard to speculate on what this dream might mean. You are the final authority on meaning. It isn't something you can look up in a dream dictionary.

Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.

I have heard that losing teeth could mean that you have been speaking badly of others. If this does not ring true for you. The other thing it may be a health issue, subconsciously there is a warning. I am not talking of a huge health issue, it could be the littlest thing.

Your mind might be playing with metaphors. When we say a law has teeth, we mean it is enforceable. Maybe you are temporarily feeling powerless (toothless) in your life, or lacking the necessary energy for effectiveness. This could be referencing problems with your health, job or relationships. It could be that it is time for a change for the better. I don't think you need to associate it with death in any way.

Losing your teeth means you are losing the ability to dissect and break down issues in your life. Or you are not using sound judgement when making critical decision and you can't get a grip on how to approach decisions with wisdom.

It implies that maybe someone in your life doesn't like you for some odd reason and wants to pick a fight with you...just being honest.

You could also have a bully in your life and that person wants to pick a fight with you at some point in time, again...I'm just being honest.

It's only a dream, so don't believe what you dream, because dreams just get one to start thinking, that's all.

That dream moods website is great. Teeth are the first way we proccess things we put into our bodies so perhaps it means you are afraid that you may be "biteing off more than you can chew" or you feel that your grip or "bite" on the situation is loose making failure imminant. Only one way to overcome your fear . . . . . face it (hence the rotation between third and first person vantage points).

Here in Brazil people also believe someone close is going to die. I sometimes dream of teeth falling out and no one ever dies in my family after I have these dreams.
Check this site, it has some good explanation.

Loosing or loose teeth mean that you have been or are lying a great deal. This is your conscience trying to get your attention.
