Sorrow is just another emotion. It's just another way for us to express our wants and needs.

No but it can be the doorway to an elevated understanding of what love is. Most people spend their lives avoiding sorrow, especially in relationships. I myself dated many many people, breaking up when someone bored me or offended me and getting someone else till that person threatened to hurt my feelings someway. It wasnt until I stayed with one person...who I'll admit hurt me emotionally more than any person I've ever know, that I finally understood what it means to hurt. It was a revelation to me of how much (forgive me Im a Believer) Jesus must hurt to see His children stumble and fall and sin and ignore Him. It opened my eyes to how great His love is, and allowed me to begin to love others more than I hever had before.

I think your question is one of the most poetic and beautiful I have yet seen posed here. Sorrow indeed is beautiful. Only through sorrow can we come to understand forgiveness of self, others and to love at a deeper level. Thanks for the beauty. (It's hard to disagree with a bearded goat.)
