Goto settings

Goto network settings

Goto network connection, select enable

Goto Internet connection settings just below internet connection-

Push yes when it says you may be disconnected

Select wired or wireless

For wireless use scan or enter manually

Follow on screen instructions.

Once that is set up return to main menu and go to network near the right

You may have to reset your router so that it will recognize your ps3 . (if no reset then unplugg router and power it back on.

ok people do play online on the ps3 but not as many people do on xbox360. Yes the ps3 does have laggier online play then the xbox 360 but thats what you get for free online. Now you might think the ps3 is more boring then the xbox 360 because the xbox 360 has way more features then the ps3 does and i think you would get bored because ps3 is mostly just for campaign games and i think you like online more which is definitly a xbox 360 thing. I own both systems so there is no fan boy stuff here. To make xbox cheaper just buy a year subscription becuase if you buy monthly it would cost way more money then the year. So yes the xbox 360 slim is worth getting if you like online play

First you have to update the ps3 through an ethernet cable, so plug the supplied ethernet cable with one side in the ps3, and one side in your router or a computer with internet. Next, on the cross media bar under the settings tab press system update, to update to the latest firmware. Then go to "Network Settings" under the settings tab on the cross media bar and press on "Internet connection settings" and go through the tutorial. that's it. good luck
