try and cut out carbs, really i mean you can still eat them, but watch how many, IM diabetec, and just had a baby, thru the pregnancy i mainly ate like chicken, tuna, peanut butter sandwhiches, i stoped drinking pop, it was hard i was a HUGE MT Dew drinker, Now I only drink water and can not stand pop. Pop is seriously a big thing. But i walked a lot, I weight less now then before I got pregnant. So it does work. Just watch what you eat and you can do it, and you will feel a lot better. But do it now while your young. Im 22 , ive been over weight and now have type 2 diabetes. I really wish i would have started younger. Good luck. Dont give up.

1. When you are eating with your family, use the salad plate for your dinner plate. Put veggies/salad/fruit on the plate first.
2. When you are dining out. Ask for a to-go container as soon as your food arrives and put half of your food in the container.
3. Walk for 30-60 minutes a day. Do half in the morning and half at night or all at once. Make it fun, take your ipod or a friend.
4. Make a fitness goal. Maybe work up to running or a walk-a-thon.
5. Limit pop, candy, chips, fast food to occasionally. I only let me kids have soda if we are eating out. No candy or chips in the house. We have to drive/walk to get those things.
6. Support - You need a friend to help support you. Email me if you'd like. I'll help keep you on track.
Good luck!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
