Most dogs absolutely love cat food. It's alright if they eat a little bit. You don't want to give it to dogs as part of their regular diet because it's too rich for them. They could easily get sick. Like doggy treats though, it's ok in moderation. Just not all the time.

It won't do him any harm at all. The reason dogs & cats have different foods is that their nutritional requirements are different. That means, if you always fed your dog on cat food, or the other way around, they would eventually become sick due to malnutrition. If your dog grabs a mouthful of cat food sometimes, it's absolutely fine. Some dogs seem to find cat food more interesting - there are lots of different flavours that dog food doesn't come in, and some dogs like a fish flavoured cat food occasionally too, as a treat. Every now & again won't hurt at all.

Sure. Dogs can eat cat food any time. In a book I have that gives you tips to train your puppy/dog they actually suggest you buy some cat food and give your dog little bits of it as treats! I don't know if that's really what I would do or if it's the best idea, but that's what it says!

Rufus will be fine, although you probably want to prevent him from eating more wet cat food. My advice is to put the cat food where Abigail can get it but Rufus can't (such as a counter top).

Your dog will be fine. You do want to try to avoid this in the future though. It is not a good idea for him to stray from a balanced diet. soft food is not good for his teeth either. And your kitty may start to eat his food as well (one of my cats did that when she was young) overall, no worries. just try to feed them separately. they do not need food in the bowl 27/7. have a set schedule and they will learn to eat thier fill at the appropriate times.

he should be just fine unless for some reason he has an alegic reaction. you may notice he may get diarhea as cat food is richer than dogs but don't worry. Don't make it a habit. Dog food is for dogs and cat food is for dogs.
it's so much fun when you have two or more breeds but not to worry
Just remind him he's a dog and not to do that again

My dog did the same thing today. It's perfectly fine, so don't worry. But, now my dog won't eat his food. I guess cat food is better- but i don't recommend it on a regular basis.

It should be fine, as long as you don't feed him kitten food for long periods of time. He might have a slight touch of diarrhoea but don't worry - he'll live!!!

Nope, he will die. Just kidding. It's perfectly normal and okay. He will make it and be fine. Pets just like tasting others foods. It's basically just like dog food.
