If so, wouldn't then any person who is truly happy love God, whether they know it or not?

I should clarify -- I completely respect other beliefs and lack thereof because I think that happiness is so important. I think that if someone is truly happy, that's the goal in life -- some people, like myself, call this a relationship with God, but there are countless ways of looking at it. And that includes not believing in God at all.

It doesn't take a lot to make some people happy. Before I got into church, I was happy. My little world was perfect. My parents were good to me and I got most everything I wanted, so i was happy. When a person has everything they want, they're usually happy. But God brings joy into your life. The joy of the Lord will stay with you when the happiness leaves you. When everything goes wrong. When you don't get the things you want. When the doctor says it's cancer, the joy of the Lord will sustain you. "The joy of the Lord is my strength."

What do think happiness is? I think along the way, you have been misinformed. If a person with no shoes or coat can feel true happiness, then it isn't about any amount of money that makes one truly happy. If a person who has worked long at a hard labor job for low wages, feels and experiences true happiness, then it is not about equating happiness with worldy gain. I have found in my own life however, that I am truly happy, when I consider what I am blessed with. I am fortunate to know that I was born into a Family that truly loves me. That makes me happy. I was taught to respect and enjoy nature. I am truly happy when I do this. I am truly happy when I hold a baby in my arms. I am happy when I walk along a sandy beach, and feel the sand squish up between my toes. I am happy when I climb to the top of a hill or mountain and take a moment to enjoy the view, and my conquest. I feel happiness when I ride horseback, or pet a cat, dog or rabbit. I feel happy when I am out having lunch, and good conversation with a friend. I feel happy when I see cloud formations or feel summer rain on my face. I feel happiness when I visit a friend in Australia. Or hear from an old friend . Or visit a new place. I feel happy, like a giddy child, when I look out a planes window and see the clouds below me instead of above me. I feel true happiness when I am kissed with a sweet heart felt kiss.The affectianate kind given by a parent or child. And the sensuous amorous kind given by a hopeful perspective lover, be it a Husband, boyfriend or whatever stage of relationship I may be experiencing. I have had more than my share of Tragedies, Traumas, Dramas and Heart aches. But I continue to find, feel and look forward to so much more Happiness. I wish you well in your own pursuit of happiness.

No. I have true happiness. I love my family and life. I have no belief in god. I do the best I can and try to do no wrong. I enjoy who I am and life.

No, I'm happy, and I don't love God, nor do I think God exists. Happiness is not obtained only through religion.

Absolutely not. True happiness arises when you have a significant other whom you love and who loves you. God has nothing to do with it.

Different people have different definitions of what "true happiness" means to them. for some, it involves love of God. for others, it does not. depends on how you personally define "true happiness".
